Schedule Changes
Schedules changes are being finalized this week. I hope to have a rough copy to you at the staff meeting. There are several great ideas regarding the schedule being discussed. Thanks to everyone who has worked on the schedule. Please note that our weekly schedule will be altered as far as data teams, PD, and observations of each other next year!
Summer PD
- Since last week, Julie Costello's schedule has filled up! She will be meeting with our building grade level teachers to review the Workshop model, discuss engagement during Readers Workshop, and review Writers Workshop on July 27. She will meet with Title and Sped staff on July 25-26. Please accept or decline the invite that you receive this week. She has also start a google folder for us to begin putting questions into. I will share the folder with each of you and you add your questions directly onto the google doc Julie to answer as she has time now. The link is shared below!
Finish Strong
It's time of year for tired! We are tired; the kids are tired; our families are tired! BUT, it's also the time of year that kids remember. How do you want them to remember you, this school year, and their last few weeks at HES? We owe it to them to finish strong, even when we are tired! It's a great time of year to add in some more experiments or STEM activities. It's also the time of year to want more time outside or stay out at recess a few extra minutes. Please let me know if your class earns some extra time outside and check your staff handbook to see when the playground is free. If you choose to go out while another grade level is on the playground, you must step up your supervision. With several grades already having 3 classes on the playground for their allotted time, the playground becomes very crowded with even one extra class. Please be mindful of what is happening with our kids while you are outside.
I included a video about Finishing Strong. We can do it!
