The BEST Library News

Information for our school community

Greetings to all!

Dear Parents,

At our library, I am working to create a sense of community and collaboration. I want our students to see the library as their own. Part of that is taking good care of the books they check out. Please help your child to be a responsible book borrower. They should always know where their book is. Books are due weekly.

Don't forget to ask your child about Storia. Teachers give access to their students and they have access to over 2000 ebooks both at home and at school on computers, tablets, phones. The link is right here on the library webpage and students have a class code and password.

Thanks for reading this newsletter!

Monthly LIbrary nights!!

Once a month, the library will be open from 5-6:30. For December, library night is on the 9th. On those nights, we will have a story to share, a simple snack, a special craft that corresponds to the theme of the book.

We had great fun in November painting rock turkeys and decorating a turkey in unique ways. We enjoyed reading A Turkey for Thanksgiving by Eve Bunting.

In December, we will have a shorter craft time to allow for shopping at the Book Fair!! I hope to see you there!

Book Swap Fridays

If your child has some of their own books at home that they would like to trade in, they can bring them in on Fridays. They may trade them for books on my book swap cart. They can do this every Friday and they may keep these books or trade them in the next week.

Book Fair is Coming!!!!!

Book Fair will be here Dec. 7-11 (ending at noon on Friday). It will be open during the day as well as 5-6:30 for Library Night. A smaller version on a cart will be available on the night of Dec. 8th during the Children's Museum Night here at Best.
