HUGE thank you to our music teacher Mrs. Hostetler, as well as Mr. Hostetler, Mr. Walter, our 3rd Grade Teachers, our 4th Grade Teachers, our custodians Mrs. White, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Stewart, and Ms. Warner, all of our 3rd and 4th grade students, and YOU the parents! THANK YOU!

PTA Holiday Shoppe Success! (Updated)
Thank You so much to our wonderful PTA for making the PTA Holiday Shoppe a success this year! We hope parents and guardians enjoy the presents your kids selected just for you :)
If your child was scheduled to visit the Holiday Shoppe today, don't worry, we are working on a schedule to ensure they are able to purchase their items when we return to school on Monday.
If you have any questions, please contact our PTA at wepta@jgsc.k12.in.us
PTA Kids Night Out Tonight Has Been Cancelled! (Updated)
Unfortunately, due to school being cancelled today, the PTA Kids Night Out has also been cancelled.
Our wonderful PTA and I will work together to hopefully try to reschedule the event for sometime in January: If this cannot happen, refunds will be issued once we officially cancel.
I know we were all looking forward to making this happen, but hopefully we can in the future.
If you have any questions, please contact our PTA at wepta@jgsc.k12.in.us
Holiday Theme Days and Parties Next Week (New)
Next week, our students will be doing a variety of different holiday activities at WES!
All week, we will be encouraging our students to participate in some good old fashioned holiday fun with a different themed days each week! Thank you to Mrs. Park and our WES Student Council for developing the ideas for next week! Please click HERE for more information!
On Friday, December 17th, some teachers will have Holiday Parties in their room: Parties/activities will no doubt look different from Kindergarten through 6th grade.
If your child's teacher has emailed about having a party and you plan to drop off food/drinks, please do so by 12:00 on Friday, unless instructed otherwise by your classroom teacher
Thank you so much! We plan on having a blast with our kids all week!
(REMINDER) Winter is Here...!
Winter is coming full force!
As the rain turns to snow, please remind your children that their clothes need to change as well. Coats, shoes, hats, gloves, etc. may be needed sooner rather than later!
If you need assistance in providing any type of clothing, please email Principal Fuller at pfuller@jgsc.k12.in.us
Similarly, as the rain (and God forbid snow) begins to fall, please remember to keep it slow in the parking lot, both in the morning and afternoon. We have a lot of very excited kids eager to both come to school and go home from school, and we want to make sure we are keeping them as safe as possible.

WES Devices: Chargers, and Cords Going Home (Recurring)
If/when a child is sent home for COVID related reasons, we want to ensure that each student has everything they need to meet virtually with their class(es): This includes sending home a device, charging brick, and cord.
Our Tech Department does a wonderful job of ensuring that these items are placed in a Ziploc bag with a note for each child.
As a reminder, if the charging brick and cord are not returned upon your child's returning to school, for grades KG-2nd, a $5 fee for each the charging brick and cord will be assessed to your child's account. For grades 3-6, a $20 fee will be assessed for a missing Chromebook charging brick and cord.
If items are misplaced or forgotten, we will send home a reminder to return the item, but if the charging brick or cord is not returned within 48 hours, that $5 fee will be assessed until the items are returned.
If you have any questions, please contact Principal Fuller at pfuller@jgsc.k12.in.us
Before and After School Program Transitioning to Boys and Girls Club (Recurring)
Starting this school year, the JG Before and After School Program is transitioning into the Boys and Girls Club to provide before and after school care for our elementary students.
You should have received an email from Mr. Davis earlier this week, but if not, please click HERE for more information on the program.
With any new program, there will be some bumps along the way, but here are TWO UPDATES that will hopefully alleviate any stress:
- The wonderful individuals you have gotten to know with John Glenn B/A Care will be back as part of the Boys and Girls Club Program!
- The service will start our first day of school, Wednesday, August 11th
Please register for care as normal. If you have any questions about the program, please contact Mrs. Heather Harrison at hharrison@jgsc.k12.in.us

Principal Fuller's Thoughts
It dawned on me early this week...Christmas will be here in almost two weeks...and I have done very little (ok, none) of my holiday shopping yet :)
The holidays are such a special time, and are meant to be spent with family and friends together laughing, eating good food, and showing appreciation for the blessings of another year.
However, if you're like me, you can find yourself feeling the crunch of trying to get the house decorated, presents bought, food prepared, etc...all while trying to make sure everything feels special for our children.
It can be stressful.
This holiday season, I challenge you to take a step back...and breathe.
The term 'mental health' has been used more in the past 18 months then ever before, but I would like for you to slow down this holiday season and focus on your FAMILY and YOURSELF.
Don't let the stress of buying presents or being PERFECT stand in the way of your happiness. This holiday season, appreciate the little things and enjoy the moment.
Play outside with your kids, watch your favorite holiday movies, decorate the gingerbread house...make a mess and make memories this holiday season that will last a lifetime!
I hope you have a happy weekend, and we will see everyone on Monday for our LAST Monday of 2021 at WES!
