What I'm Loving Right Now!
My favorite hair gadget right now!
You’ve likely seen this hair gadget before, but if you haven’t or haven’t grabbed one yet, do it!
It’s basically a blow dryer and round brush in one!
Anything that cuts down on my getting ready time is a must! I normally shower at night and do my hair the next morning so I haven’t used it as a blow dryer often, but it does work well! It straightens, reduces frizz, and adds volume!
I will often still curl after as it allows me to go more days between washings than if it’s straight.
I snagged mine on Amazon, but I've seen them other places so you may want to shop around!

Blue Light Blockers
I’ve shared about blue light before but since I’ve gotten my new glasses I’m bringing it back up! I previously had orange tinted one last and while I liked them I hardly wore them because they threw off the color of things so much. I saw these Quay Australia ones and said, why not? I’ve had them for a couple of weeks and love them. They are comfortable, stylish and don’t have any weird color to them! Lucas even asked to get him a pair!
I’ll post some info as a refresher, and I strongly encourage everyone to look into blocking blue light as much as possible. I’ve even heard contact lenses are being or have been made with this capability!
And, in case you didn’t know Beautycounter’s sunscreen includes California Poppy to block blue light rays. Blue Light comes from our lights in our house, computer and phone screens. It's been in the media that these rays have a significant impact on our melatonin production, decreasing it, therefore negatively impacting our circadian rhythms. Poor sleep is linked to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, depression, and obesity.
Studies show that when people use blue-light-blocking glasses, even in a lit room or while using an electronic device, they produce just as much melatonin as if it were dark.
Likewise, blue-light-blocking glasses have been shown to spur major improvements in sleep and mental performance.
But, what we are also learning is that Blue Light is actually everywhere. When outside, light from the sun travels through the atmosphere. The shorter, high energy blue wavelengths that make up Blue Light, collide with the air molecules, causing blue light to scatter. This is in fact what makes the sky look blue.
Its skin-aging effects can potentially be as much of a concern as those caused by UVA & UVB. The latest research suggests it may damage skin proteins and lipids. When these are damaged, signs of age like loss of skin elasticity, wrinkles, and hyper pigmentation are possible.
I'm so impressed that we are one of the first companies to produce a product that not only protects against UVA and UVB, but also Blue Light.
A frequent question I hear is about supplements and what to take. The other morning in Instagram stories I shared what Evelyn and Elijah take on most mornings and I received a lot of messages thanking me and asking questions.
I’m not sharing this to tell you that this is what each kid should be on or that these are the best supplements. These are what my children get and these brands work for us. I don’t think supplements are a one shoe fits all kind of approach and we tweak this depending on if an illness is popping up. Most of these we get from Amazon or direct from Nutridyn.
Let me know if you have questions!
A friend shared this and it stuck with me. I hear too often that people don’t make an effort or quit because of an all or nothing mentality. It’s quite unfortunate because oftentimes beautiful things are missed out on or benefit is lost.
I am of the mindset that every bit counts and just because it can’t be 100% right out of the gates or all the time doesn’t mean all is lost. This is true for diet/exercise, switching products, various habits and the list can go on. Please don’t beat yourself up or not even try if a day is spent indulging or instead of replacing all of your cupboard of less than safe products you can only do one. This is a journey and I hope each day looks a little “better” than yesterday. ♥️
Heaven knows I’m no where near perfect!
