OLVCS Updates
April 16, 2021
Dear Parents,
As Saint Fulton Sheen once said, "The greatest love story of all time is contained in that tiny white Host."
So, on that note, I would like congratulate our second graders who received the sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time this Easter season. I have many fond memories of my own First Communion and those of my daughters. I know that continued reception of the Eucharist will deepen the faith of these students.
In addition, I would like to thank our 2nd grade teachers, Mrs. JoAnne Venturino and Mrs. Sharon Stec who, along with our students' parents, have helped these students prepare for this important step in their faith development. Below are a few photos that parents have shared with us of this great day.
Taking on the heart of Jesus,
Chad Packer, MEd
Principal, OLVCS

OLVCS Athletics Update
Pak-Blyzniuk and Wright "Dominate" at Philipsburg-Oseola
"Andrew Pak-Blysniuk and Brynn Wright won each event in which they competed" at the track meet on Monday, reported an elated Coach Straub. "They dominated!"
The Crusader Track Team competed against athletes from Philipsburg-Oseola and Central middle schools on Monday, April 12, 2021.
With strong performances by many athletes, the Crusader's girls team beat both the Philipsburg-Oseola and Central teams. The boys team beat Philipsburg. "That is truly amazing with only 9 OLV (boy) athletes!" explained Coach Straub.
“Once again the OLV boys and girls track team did not disappoint," said Coach Straub. "Their grit and determination to get those personal records was evident today against Philipsburg and Central."
The Crusaders next meet is on Wednesday, April 21st at Tyrone.
Score sheets are now posted on the OLVCS website on the Track and Field page. Click on button below to navigate to the page.
Hit Me With Your Best Shot...of a Tomato
In recent weeks, Saint Joseph's teacher, Mrs. Leanne Reisinger has been capitalizing on this photography interest and professional field. As part of a series of assignments, her Photography II students have been challenged to create and execute great shots all with food as the subject.
The goal of the photography assignments is to help students advance their skills in focusing on and using elements such as texture, repeating elements, negative space, and natural light. Students gain experience with following composition rules and, importantly, what happens when you don't.
