Room N203 First Grade News

Woodland Elementary School

I have plowed over this thank you letter for quite some time now, and I still do not feel as if I have gotten the wording down to perfection. But here goes...

I cannot even begin to express the gratitude and appreciation I feel for each and every one of you and your first grade kiddo. I have a wonderful family at home who make it difficult to leave in the morning, but there is no place I would rather leave to than Woodland Room N203. You and your kiddo make my job much more than that. You make it a lifestyle... one that I cherish most every minute of!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the most wonderful birthday and Christmas presents a person could ask for. Each one had its own personal touch, and my heart was filled with warmth and appreciation. All of it was much more than one person deserves, and I feel beyond grateful for everything I received this holiday season.

I hope it goes without saying though, that the purest gifts are the enjoyment and pleasure I get from working with your kiddo each and every school day. They are all gifts themselves, and they each hold a special place in my heart.

Thank you beyond words could ever say for all of your generosity this holiday season. I am very, very blessed.

No Boots Allowed in the Gym

Mrs. Hermus sent out an email asking teachers to remind students and families about the "No Boots in the Gym" policy. The school plans to replace the gym floor this coming summer and they ask that wet boots stay off the floor prior to this replacement. Most kiddos have gym shoes here at school... please check with your kiddo to see if they still fit well or if they need to be replaced with a bigger pair. Also, if your child does not have gym shoes here at school, please send in a pair for our weekly PE classes! Thank you, in advance, for your help!

Box Top Competition

The Box Top competition is officially underway! Please see the Woodland newsletter and Jackie Kempf's email with more information about the competition. The competition last throughout the month, so send them in whenever possible! Be sure that Box Tops are cut and unexpired. Thank you for your help with this! This is a great opportunity to raise money for our school.

"Golf Galore" Basket Theme

As you have already been told by our wonderful room moms, our basket theme this year is: Golf Galore. Although donations and monetary donations are not being collected right now, here are some ideas for things that would make a great fit in our basket.

  • golf balls
  • golf tees
  • golf gloves
  • club covers
  • golf towel
  • golf hat/visor
  • gift cards to local golf courses/golf shops (i.e. golf galaxy)
  • gift cards to Badger Sports Park for mini golf
  • ball markers
  • child-sized golf bag
  • indoor putting green

Any help with our basket is greatly appreciated! Please direct any questions to myself or Alyssa Jeffers or Jackie Kempf. Thank you in advance for your help with this!
