Words of Wisdom
Lost and Found
The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
~ Mahatma Gandhi
Educators give of themselves day in, day out, not to mention all the many, many hours over the standard workweek spent grading, counseling, organizing and preparing. Where on earth would you find another minute to sign yourself up to volunteer? It sounds counterintuitive, but studies have shown that the more time you give in service, the more time it seems you actually have. When your time is being spent effectively helping others, it advances your efficiency, ability and confidence. Being of service to others doesn't have to be a huge, burdensome commitment, just enough time to lose yourself and your worries in the best way.
With something to think about . . .
