Principally Speaking
Our STARS have been working very hard the last couple of weeks learning routines, developing community, and focusing on learning new curriculum. The staff at Nashua have committed to providing each student with engaging educational experiences, exposing them to various types of literature, developing number sense and mathematical problem solving skills, along with challenging Science activities!
It is an honor to serve as the principal of Nashua Elementary! Thank you for trusting us with your children each day! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher or myself directly.
As always, it's a great day to be a STAR!

Build A Strong Partnership with Your Child's Teacher Right Away
You should also find time to talk with the teacher about your child. Plan to attend parent-teacher conferences. If you can't come to this event, ask the teacher if you can meet another time.
It is also important that you share information about your child with the teacher. Open communication is one key to your child's success.
Mrs. Cobb's Corner
The state of Missouri requires that 90% of our students attend school 90% of the time. In 2017, our attendance at Nashua was 99%, that's the highest in the district! Our goal this year is to maintain that number. Thank you for helping to support us in this area!

- PTA Meeting at 6 PM on September 18 in the Nashua library - all are welcome!
Hello Nashua Families!
It was so great to see/meet so many of you at Back to School Night! If you didn't get a chance to stop by the PTA table to purchase your membership, yearbook, or pay your room party fee(s), it is not too late. Feel free to print the order form off our website and send it in along with payment in an envelope to our box in the front office.
We hope you'll join us at our first meeting coming up on September 18th! Our PTA is a great way to get involved in making the school and community the great place it is. Recently, the PTA has funded the rock climbing wall, a new PA system, and an archery set. We also support our students and teachers annually by providing classroom funds for each teacher, funding field trips and school parties, developing fall and spring family activities - and much, much more. By becoming a member and attending our meetings, you can help be a part of all of this!
Another great way to get involved is to volunteer. We have several open positions still, and we'd love to add to our great team of parents and teachers.
As always, please reach out anytime! Looking forward to a great school year.
Robyn Tuwei
PTA President
PTA Fundraiser:
Nashua Elementary PTA is partnering with Great American again this year for our PTA fundraiser. All proceeds go toward funding Field Trips, classroom supplies for every teacher, recognizing staff, etc., as well as large school purchases - last school year we bought a Rock Wall installation in the gym, and a new PA system for events and assemblies, just to name a few!
Next month, our fundraiser kickoff will be September 10th with a video link teachers will show in class and fundraising packets will be sent home the same day. Our fundraiser will run thru September 24th and we have a planned delivery date of October 24th.
If you would rather 'buy-out' or donate directly to PTA, please feel free to do so - any amount is greatly appreciated! If you have any questions, contact Jennifer Walters at jwalters974@hotmail.com or 816-665-1870.
