Greetings from Dr. Garcia!

November 3, 2019

It's hard to believe November is here! We had a busy week of teaching and learning at CIA, and we were happy to have a little fall fun on October 31st. Thank you to the parents who came to the fall parties and who participated in the parade. Our scholars loved it!

Caring is the learner attribute we are focusing on in November. It is a wonderful time of the year to discuss ways that we can show we care for ourselves, our community, our world, and others. We hope you are able to discuss this important trait with your scholars.

This Friday is our Trivia Night. Please come and support our PTSO. Doors open at 5:30 (please use Door 4). Trivia begins at 6:00 pm. Entry fee: $10 for adults, $5 for kids, $5 for grandparents

To register or for questions, contact Clay International’s PTSO President Melinda Fountain at

clayacademyptso@gmail.com or 574-298-7376.

We have a delayed start on Wednesday, November 6th. School will begin one hour later.

Please welcome Ms. Dawnalee Carey to the CIA family. She is our new 4th grade teacher, and she is delighted to be here.

We hope you have a wonderful week!

Blessings,

Dr. Garcia

Developing Global-mindedness

Cultivating global learners is an intricate piece of the work we do at Clay International. Mr. Farrell's class recently studied West Africa though a traveling trunk from The University of Notre Dame. The scholars studied artifacts, read books, listened to music, and did crafts relating to 16 western African countries. The scholars made the quilt using pictures of animals and their Swahili names. The craft is from Nigeria.
