Generating "Wonderings"

After reading Hottest, Coldest, Highest, Deepest, our class generated their own wonderings about nature's record holders. We researched our questions in the lab. Today student's blogged about their findings and learned about their classmates' research, too. It was a fun way to expand our text and generate questions to research. Check out our Blog site below...your child will need to sign in.

Hamma Montana Has Arrived

Many thanks to Heidi and her mom who outfitted "Hamma". Our grade 3 pig race is slated for Wednesday during our lunch time. The winner of that race will advance to finals. Good luck, Hamma!

Reserach Shows...

In class our students enjoyed reading Time For Kids. This week's edition had a lead article on sleep. The National Reserch Foundation states our children between the ages of 6 and 13 NEED nine to eleven hours of sleep each night. Most kids are getting far less than that. New research shows that a good night's sleep supports how your brain works and how well you learn. What is stealing kids' valuable sleep time? Reasearch suggest the culprits are screens.

Next week marks the beginning of National Screen Free Week. Many schools celebrate this event. Team 13 will be trying to live one full school day screen free next week. If we can provide our signed pledge card from a parent...we will get a special reward.
