World Language Culture Field Trips

This past Friday, our 9th graders in Spanish 2 and French 2 classes took part in an exciting cultural experience, complete with music, food, and dancing. Spanish students traveled to the wonderful Cuba Libre restaurant in Philadelphia, while French students spent the day at the La Luna dance studio in Bensalem. Spanish students enjoyed a salsa dance performance and lesson while eating an authentic meal consisting of three amazing appetizers: plátano frito (fried plantains) , malanga frita and empanadas. The main meal for students included: chicken and rice, black beans, salad and flan for dessert. The French students learned the history of rock music in France and were taught how to swing dance while enjoying an authentic lunch of quiche, poulet (chicken) basquese, salade nicoise, and éclairs for dessert. The students and teachers had a wonderful time enjoying this unique cultural opportunity!

7th Grade Celebrates Earth Day

Our 7th graders used their creativity and collaboration skills as they designed and built 3-dimensional art using recycled materials from home to celebrate Earth Day.

Congratulations, Mrs. Mancini!

Mrs. Mancini will be traveling to San Francisco this weekend as a member of the LearnZillion Dream Team 2013! Mrs. Mancini was selected from over 3,000 teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators nationwide to join 200 other teachers at Teach Fest where they will work with Common Core experts and content specialists while receiving technology support needed to translate classroom expertise into screencasts, a sophisticated but simple use of the computer screen for teaching. Funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Mrs. Mancini will work remotely with her Teammates to capsulizing creative and engaging teaching strategies into concise lessons that will then be made available free to every student, teacher, and parent through Learn Zillion's online platform at LearnZillion.com. We are so proud of Mrs. Mancini for her accomplishment in being selected as well as her dedication and service to all students and teachers through this amazing opportunity!
