Our 2023 Mantra

Our School Vision...
St Vincent’s is a welcoming, Christ centred and child focused community where inclusivity and diversity are celebrated. Inspired by our patron St Vincent de Paul, we seek to empower all to embrace the spirit, peace and wisdom of Jesus and become respectful stewards of the earth.
Acknowledgement of Country
St Vincent’s School acknowledges the Whadjuk Noongar people, the traditional custodians of the lands on which we learn and play. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and future and honour their unique cultural and spiritual relationship to the land, waters and seas and rich contribution to society.
Fourth Sunday in Easter

From the Leadership Team
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
On Wednesday the 26th of April, our Year Six students, accompanied by Mrs James, Mrs Nelson, Mr Cusack, Mrs Owen and Mrs Aquino, departed for Woodman Point for their annual Year Six Camp.
Overall, Camp was a great success, providing our senior students with a range of challenging and exciting experiences that helped them further develop important skills and qualities. From rock climbing to orienteering, raft building to flying fox, students were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones and work together to solve problems and overcome challenges. Through teamwork, communication, and a positive attitude, students were generally able to further develop trust and a sense of responsibility and show courage, adaptability and resilience.
Camp also provided valuable opportunities for students to develop their independence and confidence, and to reinforce positive relationships with their peers. Many students found themselves in a new and unfamiliar environment, away from home for the first time, but with the support of their classmates and our incredibly nurturing staff, they were able to adapt, work through barriers and embrace the experience as best as possible.
Camp was a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn, grow, and create lasting memories. The skills and qualities nurtured by this experience will serve them well in the years to come, in both their school and personal lives.
We are so proud of all students' achievements and grateful to our wonderful and generous staff who organised and led such a successful camp. We look forward to seeing all our Year Sixes build on their leadership skills and continue to develop into confident and capable young people during their remaining three terms at St Vincent's.
Huge thanks also to Mrs Outram and Mrs Said who joined us for day activities.
May we all seek to live the coming weeks in a beautiful way.
Anne, Lorralie and Creed

OUR MJR FOCUS IS - WAYS TO BE A GOOD FRIEND

At our school, we believe that teaching children to be good friends is an essential part of their social and emotional development. We recognize that children who have positive relationships with their peers are more likely to be happy, confident, and successful both in and out of the classroom.
To help our students develop strong friendship skills, we teach them the importance of kindness, empathy, and respect. We encourage them to listen to others, to be inclusive and accepting of differences, and to work together to solve problems.
Through role-playing, group discussions, and other interactive activities, our students learn how to communicate effectively, express their feelings in appropriate ways, and resolve conflicts peacefully. They also learn about the importance of boundaries and how to respect the personal space and privacy of others.
We believe that by assisting our children to be good friends, we are helping them to become more community minded, and more able to develop a more inclusive and respectful community. We look forward to continuing to support our children by nurturing kindness, compassion, and empathy towards themselves and others.
