This Week's Schedule:
6th Grade
This week we will finish any remaining assignments left, then watch Macbeth (Unrated, A&E Production) on DVD.
7th Grade:
This week we will finish any remaining assignments left, then watch the last 15-minutes of Othello on DVD. We will also watch the movie, The Giver (Rated PG-13), based on Lois Lowry's classic novel we read earlier this year.
8th Grade:
This week we will finish any remaining assignments left, then watch Hamlet on DVD (Rated PG). We will also watch The Giver (PG-13) based on Lois Lowry's novel which we read last year.

The School Picnic is this Thursday!

8th Grade Graduation is this Friday!

Returning and new students are required to read the following books during the summer. An essay based on the student's reading will be assigned during the first week of school.
6th grade:
Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan
7th grade:
The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau
8th grade:
City of the Beasts by Isabel Allende
Instead of City of the Beasts, 8th grade students may choose Harper Lee's new novel, Go Set a Watchman. It is set for release on July 14. This novel is a sequel--although she wrote it first--to Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, which the 8th graders will read in September.
