Mrs. Greene's 3rd Grade
November 6, 2017
I LOVE My Class!
The title of this section of my newsletter says it all.... This is a GREAT group of kids who genuinely care about learning and growing. It is such a joy to watch them! Things that got me excited today, Friday...
- Griffin wrote an AMAZING sensory language piece! I told him I wanted to copy it to use as a model to show my class next year. He was BEAMING!
- JC is one of those kids that has a GREAT attitude no matter what! I could ask him to write a 50 page essay on the most boring topic ever and he would say, "OK, Mrs. Greene," with a smile on his face!
- Shota couldn't find the office and needed to make a trip there. Cole, happily, took him to the office without being asked.
- We earned our TRANSITION TALLY extra recess time today. Instead of playing during recess, Addi sat on the bench and read the new book that we picked out together earlier in the week!
- Ethan lost his football that he brought in from home. We looked for it and had no luck. Instead of breaking down or having a bad attitude, he shrugged his shoulders and said, "I'll check the lost and found on Monday."
- Evangelin has such a HUNGER for learning new things! Watching her participate in her reading group is very fun!
OK...there are more, way more... but I'll save them for next week!
Please look at your child's DATA BINDER as we add new things every Monday. Don't forget... I am happy to meet with you to discuss your child's progress in 3rd Grade. Just let me know a good day/time and we will get something scheduled.
Looking forward to a GREAT week next week!
Enjoy your weekend...

SRE CALENDAR

November 21 Grandparent's Day
Grandparent's Day
Grandparents’ Day is on Tuesday, November 21. Third grade classes will be hosting grandparents from 10:50-11:30. We will be doing an interactive activity using Nearpod. This will require A LOT of devices, since all of the third grade classes will be doing this. If there is a device your child (or their grandparent) can bring in, it would help accommodate our desire for all grandparents who are present to be able to participate. If your child does NOT have a grandparent that can come, a “special person” can come. All students will be involved and those that do not have a grandparent or special person present can be “adopted” by friend for our activity.
In addition to the Nearpod, we are hoping to set up some photo booths, where grandparents and children can use props to get their pictures taken. Here is how we need your help:
*A parent photographer that can bring a camera (not a cell phone) and take pictures. Then, leave the memory card with me and I will have prints made and then return the card.
*Props – any silly props you have that could be used in a photo booth. Maybe someone has mustaches, silly hats, etc. We would love your donations to make the photo booth fun!
