This Week at Parkway
Week of September 13
A Great First Week
We enjoyed welcoming students to Parkway on Thursday and Friday this past week. On Thursday, we spent our day with our Foundations teachers to learn about school expectations and structures and to build community. On Friday, we ran through our full schedule so that students could get the feel for what a regular day would look like. We are looking forward to a wonderful year!
A few key points for this year:
- We are focused on safety. We spoke with all of our students about masking expectations. In general, students are required to wear a mask at all times when they are not eating or drinking. Masks should be worn over the mouth and nose. This expectation is for the safety of all students and staff.
- We are also focused on engagement. Electronics can be a big distraction for students. If cell phones or headphones interrupt learning or engagement, staff will ask students to put devices away or ask to hold onto devices. Also, hats and hoods are allowed this year as long as they are not used to interfere with engagement (hiding AirPods, sleeping, etc.)
This is going to be a great year at Parkway. We are excited by the students we welcomed into our building and for all the year ahead has to offer!
