Getting Ready for the Job Search
It is that time of year! If you are a graduating senior, right now is a good time to start thinking about ramping up your job search. An effective job search isn’t just sending out as many resumes as you can to as many jobs as you can find. Networking, informational interviews, research, analyzing job descriptions and customizing your resume and cover letter all can increase your odds of finding the position best suited to your skills and needs. Visit Career Design for tons of resources including Canvas Modules, weekly Coaching Labs and Daily Drop in times to learn how to optimize your search!

Career Design is excited to offer in-person Campus Drop-Ins, beginning Monday, February 28, 2022!
Where: 101 Stearns Center, Boston
When: M-Th, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. No appointment needed!
When you arrive:
- Check-in at the front desk in Stearns Center. You will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis, and meetings are up to 15 minutes. The last student will be seen at 11:45am to ensure enough time for questions to be answered.
- Make sure you are in compliance with the Northeastern University COVID-19 testing protocols and policies. If you do not meet all of those criteria, please do not enter the building: join us virtually or make an appointment for another day when you are in compliance.

"The Massachusetts Bail Fund pays bail in Massachusetts so that low-income people can stay free while they work towards resolving their case, allowing individuals, families, and communities to stay productive, together, and stable... Bail leads to longer incarcerations times, lost jobs, lost housing, and devastated families." This nonprofit works to counteract some of the disparities in the criminal justice system that lead to severe inequities for historically marginalized individuals.

What is a Big Interview?
Big Interview’s proven, step-by-step system combines expert video lessons and our interactive interview practice tool to help you land a job.
You can use Big Interview to practice interviewing online using your webcam. This tool allows you to practice various types of questions, including general, behavioral, and technical ones.
The “Answer Builder” tool inside Big Interview will help you mine the depths of your memory to find the right stories to tell. Finally, you can record your answers and ask a career counselor to provide you with feedback!

- Weekly Coaching Labs are designed to provide you with an overview of the many factors involved in your career journey.
- Self-paced, Canvas Modules parallel coaching labs for 24/7 self-paced instruction. We recommend Designing Your Career for an overview of both the process and our office (and we continue to add new modules so check back regularly).
