Happy New Year!
We would like to welcome Cortney Tyler to our class! We are thrilled to have her with us!
Curriculum Update
Writing- Opinion/Argument pieces will be our focus for this marking period. Parental involvement by engaging your child in discussions that require facts to support opinions would be a terrific way to supplement the work being completed at school!
Social Studies- Our study of World War I is underway. As with all study of war or conflict, the goal is to learn from the past and to remember the humanity involved.
Word Study- We will not be including Greek/Latin root word lists this marking period. A shift to correctly spelling grade level words will be introduced. We will also be looking at context clues in order to determine the meanings of words. A vocabulary DG is planned for Friday.
Math - We are learning how to divide whole numbers by unit fractions and will also learn how to divide unit fractions by whole number. We will have a daily grade on Friday.
