Back then,we didn't have cement.Instead,we used mud. Clay was used for sculpting and also building houses.Wood was known for building.Did you know that white birch is now illeagle to cut down?Water was very important. Water was used for travel, drinks and sending rescources. Those are some resources.
Survival
Weapons were also used often used. People lived in structures like longhouses.People also used wigwams but not to live in hey were used for hunting shelters. Its takes very long time to make a shirt from flax. It takes months for flax to grow. This is a little info from colonial survival.
Things They Had
People in colonial times didn't have much. Canoes were used for travel and hunting.Lets say you just came back from work and you see smoke coming from the fire place/ dutch oven. You also see the entrance to the loft on the ceiling above the fire. You also see a table next to your fire place.your rug came up and you see your entrance to your secret cellar. Your house is very small. You go to bed but your still in your breeches.
What They Hunt
You have to get money somehow.Your wife is a spinner your son is a merchant, your other son is a merchant and your daughter works on the farm. Unfortunately your son is sick so you have to take his place. You walk out into the on a cool autumn day. You pull out your musket. You feel a small gust of wind when you see a swift slim white tailed deer. You hear a loud Bang when you fire your musket. You miss and you see a gigantic bear looking for fish in the lake.Bang you got your 1st kill of the day.You hear a howl in the distance and it was a wolf. You shot the gun, some smoke blew in your face.Once it clears you see the wolf meat on the ground. You decide you are done with land animals and you go to the lake. Splash you see a gigantic salmon that would last awhile you aim and pull the trigger and you get the fish 1st try.You bring the food home.
Who Hunted?
Usually in your family men hunted.People helped you like your dad. If you were friends with he abenaki then they would help you as well.Other colonists helped you too.You only didnt hunt in the summer. Thats how you hunt.

Kyles Hunting Trip :O
Hi my name is Kyle. I’m 21 years old. I’m blond hair and I have blue eyes. It’s the year 1752. My house has 2 floors. On my 1st floor I have a fire to cook my food and a table to eat my food on. On my 2nd floor, I just have beds. They are made of hay .It’s nothing special. I make money by hunting. I use all the parts of the animal and I send the skins to the tailor. I also sell portions of the meat for shillings (they are measurements of money.)
One day I was in the woods hunting. It was 5:00 pm. It was my first time using a bear trap. I finally set it up. But then, a stick fell in it. “SNAP” I opened up the bear trap and took out the stick. I tested the trap. It worked all right. I heard growling and rustling. I looked behind me. I saw an agitated bear.
I quickly reached for my gun. It wasn’t there. I had no option but to run. I was trying to remember where I had put it. Suddenly I remembered. By the big oak tree where I went where I was a kid. I had some bait and threw it to the bear. I finally found my gun. Of course, it broke.
I don’t know how to fix the gun. The bear might be coming back. the barrel fell of the gun. I gave my best guess and slid the barrel of the musket back on. BANG the bullet went right through the bear.
I’m glad that nightmare is over.im but luckily I killed it. Not to boast or anything. I got lots of shillings. I skinned the bear and sold the skins to the spinner. I also split the meat into portions and sold it to the butcher. Shillings are measurements of money.40 shillings it a lot and that’s how much I got. That’s how my hunting trip went. I’m saving up the shillings for other supplies.
children's life XD
Lets say you were a child in colonial times. Life would be totally different because they had strict schools. Another reason is that they could be indentured. Lastly, you had lots of chores. Soon you will see that children had a hard life.
Chrildren in colonial had a hard life because of their schools. To put it into prospective, picture sitting in the coldest side of the class if you didnt bring fire wood. You could also get hypothermia. Or worse you could get colds, flu or many other illnesses that your immunity system could not fight off. That is 1 reason why children have a hard life.
Another reason children had a hard life is that you could be indentured. A down about that is,you had to pay lots of money to buy back your contract. You could also be taken far far away from your familys. lastly, you are taken unwillingliy. That is another rerason why children had a hard life.
Although clildren had a hardlife because of their schools and they could be indentiured. The last reason children had a hard life is that they had lots of chores. This impacted their life by waking up at dawn and still finishing their chores later in the day. Also if you stopped working,to the stolks you go or worse you could get whipped. That’s going to hurt. This is the last reason children had a hard life.
This is why children had a hard life because of their schools.I also stated that you could be indentured last but not least they had lots of chores. That is why childen had hard lifes.
colonial food XP
Cooking was not all that easy. You could even say it was hard. This is about food in colonial times cooking it getting the food and what they ate.All of the prep work is way more work than what we have now.
Cooking was 1 pain in colonial times.they cooked breads pies and what you would usually cook in an oven was on a shelf in a fire place called a dutch oven. They cooked or steam in a kettle things like beans beef dear corn and stews. They had lots of viriates of food but there where small portions of food because they had to save food for other days and the winter.
Getting ingredients was also a pain. There were no stores to go to. You had to hunt! A down for that is that you could be killed by other animals. Some other foods were more easy to get. You were also farmed. This time you don’t need skils. boy’s and girls farmed. That is how they got fruits and veggies. You could also loose some really good things if you do it another way. You could also trade with merchants.
What if its winter? The way the get food in the winter is is by preserving food. You preserved cucumbers apples pears and more. You preserved meats in the cellar. You preserved fruits in front of the fire. And cucumber in a jar with water.
As you can see, colonial food was very important. Picture having to picking crops. Or even having to go hunting! This is why colonial foods were important

The Other Side Of The Story X)
"Hi my name is Isial. I am 19 years old.The colonists say i'm white but with a dark skin tone. I have a bluish greenish eye color, brown hair and I am tall. Today I have to babysit my sister nitusu's son." Then I heard 2 knocks at the door. That must be them, I thought. At the door I saw my older sister and her son Drakeus. She handed over Drakeus’s toys and reminded me that she would pick him up tomorrow. (The next day) Again I heard 2 knocks a yelled 1 minute and put on my work outfit I opened the door and saw an arrow i screamed duck and she said "what where" but it was too he is late. The arrow pierced her head and she fell to the dirt floor. Drakeus woke up and started crying. Then something caught my eye a colonist lowering his bow and fleeing. When I was about to follow him my step brother came to the door and said.”Isial 5 hunters 10 blacksmith and 8 citizens all dead by the colonists” “where is the tribe leader?” I asked. “he is cooking his dinner” the next thing I know I’m sprinting to the leader and said”Isako,23 people are dead from the colonists.” “How do you know abo-“ then I remember a bullet through the head. Now I am walking through the woods ow” I gasp. It’s a palisade wall a wall of fort #4. I run back to the tribe. I told the whole tribe about the hunted people and how I found fort number 4. About %75 of the tribe came and i saw the palisade I walked into. We all brought out tomahawks bow and arrows and spears and we went through a crack in the palisade and got our revenge....
other side: New Friends :l
Prievieously: we went through the crack in the palisade and got our revenge. Now... "AHHHH AN ABENAKI" a colonist shouted. "This is what you deserve for killing almost 25 fellow abenaki members" said an abenaki. I saw a building burn. " we weren't burning we were killing them" said Drakus. "fine" said a person holding a torch. "Guys don't kill all the colonist just this one." No one lisened."
Pssssst over here a colonist said to his wife but then he motioned to me. We went to the root cellar in the basement. There was a whole house underneath the actual house. There was a fire place, Lots of food and beds. I saw 2 little kids playing with toys. They asked me if I wanted any tea but I said "no I just drink water" "Ok they said"
I heared knocks at the door I answered incase it was an abenaki but it was the captin of the fort! "We got back your contract." "ok" I said casually. I closed the door he came back with all the cloths I had to wear"I should leave these on just incase abenaki's come and attack" I said he said it was fine.
It turns out the attack started a new family friendship. I helped the family with their chores. I also taught them a thing or 2. I taught the dad some hunting tips. I also taught the kids to use fish as firtalizer and it all worked out in the end.

authors note =D
I hoped you liked my artical and stories. Could you think living as a coloinial child? Thats rough. What about cooking in a fire place? Or fighting against an angry bear.pretty hard things. On that note, I got my info from New Hampshire our home. I got my pictures from the internet. I almost forgot. Did you think about the questions? if you did you answer them we wouldn't? If you did good job. People have been telling the colonists stories for generations and taking the facts from the stories and making them writing pieces of their own.
