COLD WEATHER AND OUTSIDE RECESS

Per the CUSD 303 Elementary School Handbook, we will be going outside for recess as long as the temperature (with wind chill) is above 0 ̊F and it is not raining. With that in mind, please make sure your child is dressed to go outside on days when it is cold, snowy or windy. Students should bring outerwear to school in a bag to put on before recess. Please make sure they have hats, warm waterproof gloves, scarves and boots if they want to play in the snow. (At Davis, they need snowpants, too.) Don’t forget to label your child’s outerwear so it does not end up in the Lost & Found. Thank you!

LITERACY FEST: A SUCCESS!

Thanks to all our families who came out Thursday to select books for their Winter Break. The holidays are busy but schedule some quiet time each day to curl up with your children and one of these new books.

AUTHOR VISIT AT DAVIS

Our students were treated to time with children’s author, Sarah Aronson. She shared her book, Just Like Rube Goldberg: The Incredible True Story of the Man Behind the Machines. RICHMOND INTERMEDIATE NEWS

CARE Meetings December & January - Perseverance

Our CARE (Creating a Respectful Environment) focus for December and January is PERSEVERANCE. Perseverance means determination at working hard regardless of what’s standing in your way. It means never giving up and standing firm in your dedication and commitment to something. We want our students to value hard work, enhance their problem-solving skills and take responsibility for their own academic success. Explicitly teaching, modeling and practicing perseverance helps us to cultivate life-long learners who will have future success because they understand the skills needed to persevere.
