Buzz...

Hi EH students,

When you come to check out a book during Undercover Library or the Book Bus, you will also get to choose a MakerSpace craft to create at home. Mrs. Plew and I will offer three different toilet paper roll crafts to choose from:

The Grinch (animated holiday movie originated 1966)

Olaf the Snowman (2013 Disney’s “Frozen”)

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer (Family Movie from 1964)

When you are done, email Mrs. Lloyd (tina_lloyd@beaverton.k12.or.us) with a photo of your creation.

We miss you! HAVE FUN!

Cold Weather Doesn’t Mean You Need to Stay Inside!

With the change in weather it can be tempting to stay indoors. We know that our kids need to move every day and the extensive associated benefits of physical exercise. Here are some tips to help you build healthy (and fun!) habits into the remote school day:

  1. Start your day by taking a walk or a bike ride. Do you still travel to a different location for school? Then make that trip an active one! Too far to walk? Try parking halfway and walking the rest. Commit to walking or biking 2 days a week and start building those healthy habits.
  2. Take movement breaks in between classes or at lunch time. A brisk walk around the block will get your heart pumping and re-energize you for the rest of your day.
  3. Need to pick up your library holds or free lunch? Bike over to your pickup location and reap the benefits of an active trip while checking off your to-do list.

Thanks for your support!

EHSL Library

If you’re done reading your books, please return them so we can replenish our shelves. During school days, place books in the bins outside the front door of the school between 8:00AM and 4:00 PM. You may also return books during undercover checkouts and the book bus. Books will remain on your library account for a week after you return them so they can be quarantined.

If you have questions, please email Mrs. Plew at susan_plew@beaverton.k12.or.us

Parenting during a Pandemic” brought to you by Cedar Mill Community Library

How can we, as parents, manage stress, provide structure and connection to our children’s days, and support academics and social development without burning out as parents?

Join Megan Barella, Positive Discipline Educator, on December 10 at 6:30 PM to learn how to make your life easier and more enjoyable during the pandemic, let go of parenting guilt and overwhelm, and also feel confident that your children are thriving during this time.
