Weekly Meetings

Monday- Data Meetings: Please use this time to update Gradebook, Mastery

Connect and/or PowerSchool. Final 4th quarter grades are due Thursday, June 9th (No exceptions)

Tuesday- Departmental Planning Meetings

Wednesday- School-wide staff meeting for retirement celebration for Ms. Flash

after school 4:45-6:00.

Grade level planning meeting at discretion of Grade Level Administrator or

Grade Level Chair.

Thursday & Friday- Individual Teacher Planning

Last week of EOG Blitz preparations

This week our EOG Blitz plans are still in place. If there have been any changes to the grade level "Blitz" plans please forward the changes to your grade level administrator and myself before the end of Monday. Several of our ESL scholars will begin their EOG testing on Wednesday & Thursday. Some of our TAs and support staff will be pulled to proctor or assist with testing on Wednesday & Thursday.

Proctors Needed for EOG Testing

We are still in need of approximately 20 proctors for EOG testing. Team members who secure a volunteer to proctor for at least 1 full day will be awarded a "comp" day for June 10th if all of their end of year close out responsibilities have been met. Please contact Mr. Bloom with the names and contact information of proctors you have recruited.

CMS Employee Engagement Survey

On Monday, May 9, all CMS employees should have received an electronic invitation to participate in the annual CMS Employee Engagement Survey, administered by our consulting partner K12 Insight. The engagement survey, which differs from the Instructional Culture Insight Survey, will be open until Friday, May 27. Some employees may not feel comfortable completing the survey online. All schools have been asked to provide a paper copy of the survey for any employee who requests one. Printable surveys in English and Spanish are available. Completed paper surveys should be placed in a sealed envelope and sent to Alice Rothrock at Courier #836 by May 27.

Spring Dance Recital Tuesday, May 24th

Ms. Poke and our talented honors dance ensemble will hold their spring dance recital on Tuesday May 24th from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Please come out for a night of great dancing, great music, fun and culture on Tuesday evening.

Friday Teacher Workday & Monday Memorial Day Holiday

Friday is a teacher workday in CMS. SMS teachers will have the option to work from home on Friday. Monday CMS is closed in observance of Memorial Day.

This week we will conduct our last fire drill of the school year. Please review our school-wide fire drill expectations with your scholars and ensure that your classes are prepared for the drill.

May's Scholars of the Month and Most Improved Scholars to visit Tupelo Honey Cafe on Thursday

On Thursday our May Scholar's of the Month and Most Improved Scholars will be recognized with lunch and a tour of Tupelo Honey Cafe. Grade level winners will need to be selected by their teachers no later than Tuesday so that we can send home permission slips for the lunch.

Character & Exposure Clubs Concluded for 2015-2016 School Year

Thank you to all of our teachers and support staff members who led or assisted with a character/exposure club this spring. We are always looking to improve our practice and we would like your feedback on how we can make our clubs better next year. Please feel free to send recommendations for next year's clubs to me over the next few weeks.
