It's now looking like spring is here to stay for a while now that the rains have stopped! As we are on the home stretch of school with just over 5 and 1/2 weeks of school remaining there continues to be lots to do here at Walton! Currently students are taking the NWEA state assessment in grades 3-6. Students in K-2 will be taking the NWEA local assessment before the end of the month as well. Thank you for making sure your child is here everyday on time so they are prepared for these important events.

Some of you may have heard that effective July 1st, I'll be the new Principal of Sherwood Heights School here in Auburn. Their principal , Mrs. Cline, is retiring and I was asked by the Superintendent if I would consider this move. I'm honored, humbled and look forward to this great professional opportunity. Please know this was a difficult decision as I have loved every day of my 10 years here in the nest! As I receive more information on the transition of my replacement I will be sure to reach out. Thank you for making Walton the great community that it is and I know you will continue to do great things after I leave.

We would like to thank our PTO and families for showing appreciation to our staff this week. Although we appreciate them all year long it was nice to see the smiles on teachers faces when students shared this appreciation. A BIG shout out to the PTO for going above and beyond to make this a fantastic week for the staff at Walton!
