Differentiated Accountability: We are proudly educating 785 future leaders.
Referrals - Total Number 265
Consistency in our expectations for student behavior is key in minimizing disciplinary issues.
Our behavior data indicates that 124 of the 265 referrals have occurred in the classroom and a large majority of our disciplinary referrals are coded "Disobey/Disrespect to others".
As we enter into the last days of school, it is important for us to be consistent in our classroom expectations and increase our visibility in the hallways, cafeteria, break area, etc. in order to reduce the number of referrals. Let's set a goal to have an all-time low number of referrals for the month of May. Let's work together to have a productive, safe, and enjoyable end of year.

Professional Development Updates
Please review the PD calendar below. If you are interested in attending any training that you are not already signed up for, come see me.
Important Information
- STAR Window: The STAR window closes on 4/30/19. All students are expected to take the final STAR test. Please check to see who has NOT tested in your class and make sure they are tested within the window.
- Testing Schedules: Testing is upon us and it is very important for everyone to review the testing schedules as they are sent out to determine if there have been any oversights. Also, please let Mrs. Jackson know as soon as possible if you are not going to be at school on a day you are to either administer a test, proctor, or watch a class for a teacher that is testing.
- Parent Communication: If you have a student that is in danger of failing your course, please make sure there has been communication with the parent.
- 2019-2020 SY Voluntary Statements: Please submit a statement if you are interested in volunteering to teach a 6th class for the 2019-20 school year. There will be a folder in my box labeled "2019-2020 Voluntary Statements" for you to place your statement. Please note that this does not ensure you an extra 6th class, but it let's me know if you are willing to teach an extra class if there is a need.
- Deliberate Practice: If you need some assistance in completing your Deliberate Practice, click the link under "Instructional Focus". Also, please make sure you are uploading all your PLC information to Edivate.
- Safety:
- Please do NOT release students early at the end of 7th period unless you plan to supervise your class. There is not supervision until the bell rings.
- All classroom doors must be locked at all times. As part of their daily duties, Officer Davidson and Officer Shover will be checking to see if doors are locked throughout the day. If the door is not locked, they will ask for it to be locked. Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe!
- Cell Phone Usage in the Classroom: It is imperative ALL teachers adhere to the following classroom procedures regarding cell phone usage in the classroom. All cell phones are to be off and out of sight in the classroom. This includes listening to music with earphones. Classroom Disciplinary Procedures regarding cell phones: Record the infraction on the Behavior Tracking Form in the Student Planner and take the phone up. The phone should be sent to the office and parents will be contacted. It is imperative we all have the same expectations regarding cell phone usage in the classroom.
- Attendance: Attendance should be taken each day. Secondary teachers need to take attendance each period in an effort to monitor students throughout the day.
- Passes: If you give verbal permission for students to go to the bathroom before the tardy bell, please ask them to take a pass.
- Substitutes: Please use only the CURRENT and APPROVED Substitute List if you choose to obtain your own substitutes. Also, when making substitute notes, please include that students are not allowed to use cell phones. All cell phones should be OFF and Out of Sight.
- Passwords: Please do NOT give out your passwords to anyone.
- Absences: Any time you are going to be out, please contact Ms. Cain, Ms. Neale, or Mr. Jackson.
- I will be at a Principals' Meeting on Thursday, 4/25. If you need me, you can either email or text me.
