AUDITION STEPS
View Character List & Audition Song requirements here: www.summittheatre.org/onstage or listed below as well.
Fill out this Google Form expressing your interest in auditioning for the production: https://forms.gle/uzBnGyBm3Je8YJpR7
Within the form you will also submit a video including the one required song cutting of your TOP character choice featuring your voice & acting ability, as well as a current resume detailing your acting experience. Your song cutting should be no longer than 1 minute. Please DO NOT send in a full song - only your preferred cutting. We will not listen to the entire video if you submit a full song.
You may sing along with any karaoke or accompaniment track/piano on your video. Here is a link to full piano accompaniment tracks on youtube for your convenience: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5mBGdlebxNSNhHgqElY_xlW-ddpKy7CD
Headshots are not needed at this time.
Video submissions are due by Friday, June 26 by midnight. We will not accept submissions after that time.
REHEARSALS & WORK ETHIC
- Rehearsals will take place via Zoom as well as small socially distanced groups in person until all cast are needed. Possibly around 3-4 days a week until the last two weeks before performance.
- The dates and location of rehearsals are TBD at this point. We will not have any specific answers about rehearsals at this time, but anticipate the ability to be flexible with such a small cast. The Google Form has a place to submit any conflicts. Conflicts will not be accepted after July 26.
- Rehearsals will start on Monday, July 6 in the evening with a Zoom cast meeting.
- Because of the very short turnaround from casting to performance (5 weeks), it is necessary for actors to have the ability to learn and work on the music/lines on their own outside of rehearsals on a consistent basis. Rehearsals will be spent shaping songs and scenes, rather than teaching specific vocal parts.
CASTING & PRODUCTION INFO
The show will be cast directly from video submissions. No callbacks required.
Casting decisions will be announced by July 1.
Casting Notes:
STG encourages artists of all ethnicities, backgrounds, and genders to be considered for all roles.
Jack & Little Red: No one under the age of 10 will be considered for the role of Jack. No one under the age of 12 will be considered for the role of Little Red.
All other age suggestions for characters are flexible based on the audition submissions and can be cast in a variety of combinations. Please note the show will only be cast with the characters on the provided list, STG will not be adding an ensemble.
Cast will need to provide their own hair needs, makeup, and costumes/shoes with approval. There will be options available to borrow items from STG and other local entities/individuals. Hair and makeup items are not allowed to be shared between actors.
A COVID-19 protocol will be set in place for all involved - STG is currently making those assessments and plans. As mentioned above, the social-distanced staging will not require actors to touch.
