HOLIDAY STAFF GIFT CARD PROGRAM
FINAL CALL!!! Deadline to Participate is Tonight at 9 PM
TODAY is the FINAL DAY for the annual Holiday Staff Gift Card Program. This program is an easy way to say "Thank You!" to our Prairie staff members who have been working so hard this year.
Participation in the program is completely optional. If you would like to give, (i) click on the link below, (ii) find the Prairie staff members you would like to thank and then (iii) select the gift amount. When you log in, use the “Category” function (this will filter by grade level) to help you find the support professionals who you want to thank.
Before Winter Break, Prairie staff members will be able to convert their individual gifts to e-gift cards from retailers on the RaiseRight website, as well as Downtown Naperville. The names of the families who participated and the collective amount of their gifts will be presented to each recipient, however, individual family donation amounts remain confidential. Prairie Home & School receives a percentage from the purchased gift cards. *Please note, staff members receive the ENTIRE amount donated.*
The deadline to participate is TONIGHT at 9:00 PM. Due to the time required to process these orders, there will be no exceptions to this deadline.
Thank you in advance for your consideration, generosity, and participation! If you have any questions, please contact Meghan Lymangood, Megan Pagnucci and Colleen Troupis at prairiestaffgiftcards@gmail.com.

2022 HOLIDAY GIVING PROGRAM CONTINUES THROUGH DECEMBER 9
We invite you to participate in the Holiday Giving Program and extend the joy of the season to our students enrolled at the Ann Reid Early Childhood Center, Naperville 203 elementary, junior high, high schools and our Connection program. School social workers have identified families who need extra help providing gifts this season for their children. Parent for students at the elementary level create a wish list that may include toys, books, and clothing. Junior high, high school and Connection students are given gift cards purchased by the district through cash donations. All these wishes are fulfilled with the help of generous families like yours.
To sponsor an EC/elementary child through the Holiday Giving Program, CLICK HERE.
Cash donations are needed to purchase the gift cards for our junior high, high school and Connections students. A financial gift of support may be made by visiting the Naperville Education Foundation website, or can be sent directly to Naperville School District 203, 203 W. Hillside, Naperville, IL 60540, Attn: Holiday Giving Program, payable to Naperville Education Foundation.
Program Details:
- Sponsors should plan to purchase some of the items on the child’s wish list, but not greater than $50 should be spent.
- Wrap each gift with sturdy gift paper or gift bag and gently attach a copy of the sign-up confirmation email.
- When purchasing more than one gift for an individual child, place wrapped packages in a sealed bag with the confirmation email gently adhered to the bag.
- Gift wrapping items securely is important as the packages will undergo sorting, stacking, and shuttling before they reach their final destination.
- Deliver wrapped gifts to the Naperville District 203 Administrative Center, 203 W. Hillside Road, Naperville, IL 60540 between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm.
- Wrapped gifts MUST BE DELIVERED by Friday, December 9.
Please contact Betty Stevenson with any questions.

News From the Health Office
REPORTING ABSENCES
District 203 asks that all parents call their school’s attendance line or use the parent portal to report absences. While it is okay to also notify your child’s teacher or the Health Tech/School Nurse by email, we still need you to call the attendance line or use the parent portal to report your child’s absence. The main reason for this is that your child’s teacher could have a substitute or there could be a substitute in the health office and your email will go unseen. The attendance line is available to take messages 24 hours a day/7 days per week and is the same number as the health office. Please call (630) 420-6350 to report absences, or use the parent portal.

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) ON THE RISE
The DuPage County Health Department has asked that we help spread the word about the rise of RSV in Illinois. Please see the graphic below for more information or visit the American Lung Association’s website information on RSV at this link.
PRAIRIE PET OF THE WEEK
Who am I?
I am Hammy Hamilton, the Hamster (or "Hammy" for short). I am a Winter White Dwarf Hamster and I am about 1 1/2 to 2-years-old (my family isn't sure how old I am because I was adopted from a friend who moved to Florida. No matter though. I am fabulous at any age).
I like sunflower seeds, ripping up Kleenex to make my bed, and exploring the house in my hamster exercise ball.
Who is my owner?
Caris Loh (3rd Grade - Callaghan) and the Loh Family.
Why my owner loves me:
We love Hammy because he is very small and cute. My brother and I built a 2-story castle out of tissue boxes for Hammy -- including a slide! Another fun memory I have with Hammy is reading The World According to Humphrey to him! He is also curious and very smart.
Hammy can write his own name. Genius!
Please contact Stuart Hong with any questions, changes or submissions for the WAAG. Submissions for the following week's WAAG are due by noon on the prior Wednesday.
