News From Room 211, November 17, 2015
First,, Claxton's Thanksgiving lunch is Friday November 20. We will be going to lunch from 11:05 - 11:30. I hope you and your family can join our Claxton family for this meal. I enjoy seeing so many family members attend, and the children love having you here. If you can come, PLEASE LET ME KNOW THE NUMBER OF FAMILY MEMBERS PLANNING TO ATTEND. The cafeteria needs a general idea of how much food to prepare.
Second, we will be having a small Winn-Dixie celebration Tuesday, November 24. We completed the book several weeks ago, and I'd love to celebrate as the characters did in the book. In the story, the main character learned to appreciate, love, and be thankful for the people in her life during the party. Students are asked to dress as a character and we will decorate the classroom and serve punch and small sandwiches. If you'd like to join us, we'll have a small celebration from 11:00-11:30.
Third, if your child is a car rider, please remember that when the tardy bell rings at 8:00am, your child should be ready to work - not just unpack. Math begins as soon as announcements are completed, around 8:02.
Finally, please check your child's planner each day. Students have 20 minutes of reading to complete daily (but only need to track the reading Monday-Thursday). Your child should write the title of the book being read in the planner, and ask you to sign the planner acknowledging the pages read.
I look forward to seeing all of you soon!
Take care,
Holly
