Ionic and Metallic Bonding
By: Connor Huggins Pg. 8
Ionic Bonding is a type of chemical bond that involved electronegativity and attraction between oppositely charged ions. The ions are atoms that have lost one or more electrons (cations) and atoms that have gained one or more electrons (anions).
- They have high melting and boiling points
- Conduct Electricity when dissolved in water
Metallic Bonding is a strong attraction between closely packed ions positive metal ions and a "sea" of electrons.
