BCLUW Community School District

Every student...every day...whatever it takes!

We welcome you to learn more about the BCLUW Community School District. With an elementary school and high school in Conrad and a middle school in Union, we're an innovative rural Iowa school district of about 500 students. BCLUW has a low student:teacher ratio, allowing individualized attention and personalized learning for all students, along with many opportunities for students to be involved in extracurricular activities and clubs. We believe in ensuring that our students are college and career ready, building positive relationships with others, and place an emphasis on real-world learning experiences and community service.
BCLUW has a variety of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) initiatives, including a "Blue Apples" program that engages students in a work-based learning program supported by local business partners, a middle school robotics program, and a newly added high school classes focused on computer science, agriculture, and exploring health and science careers. BCLUW has a very high participation rate in extracurricular activities, and our students find personal growth and success in fine arts as well as on the playing field. BCLUW has invested in our classroom and athletic facilities, with a major gym renovation and new state-of-the-art strength training and fitness equipment. The strength training center and track are also open for community use.

BCLUW serves families in the Grundy, Hardin, and Marshall county areas. To learn more or schedule a visit, please contact the building office number below. For open enrollment information or application, please contact the district office at 641-366-2819.
