A call will go out by 8:30a.m. to the students marked absent.
Great Staff, Great Start!
FSE- Start Strong Each Day!- This flyer is also located in your FSE Binder
- 6:50 am Bus Riders will be received in the cafeteria and be seated at tables by grade level
- 6:55 am Bus Riders will be allowed to pick up breakfast and make their way down the hallways and sit outside of their classroom doors
- 7:00 am One teacher per grade level on duty in the hallways The Paw Bucks Store and Homework Lab will be opened from 7:00 to 7:20.
- 7:00 am Car Riders will be unloaded and directed through the main entrance. All car rider Breakfast is picked up in hallways. The side/library doors are to remain closed.
- 7:05 am Bell to enter the classroom: Teachers should remain in their classrooms with their homerooms from 7:05 on. Team meetings should occur during conference time or after school.
- 7:15 am Morning Announcements: Once announcements begin, parents will no longer be signed in to walk down the hallway. (Of course the first day, we will run behind on this).
- 7:20 am Character Education Time: Project Wisdom discussions, Acts of Kindness, Rachel’s Challenge, Class Meetings, Behavior Expectations, Role Playing, etc. Teachers decide based on need of class how to use this 10 minutes each day. Breakfast will be served from 6:55-7:30 am. This means students will continue to eat during class time if needed. Cynthia will provide lesson ideas for your toolbox monthly. Homework lab closes at 7:20.
- 7:30 am Bell signaling the end of breakfast; During the first few weeks, you may need to allow a student to continue to eat after 7:30. A hungry student will not learn as well as a student who has a full stomach. Schedule a parent conference or phone call if a student is regularly arriving late and has not yet eaten breakfast.
- 7:45 am Attendance is taken; It is imperative that you ensure this is correct. Call outs will occur based on this attendance, so if you mark a student absent that is actually at school, the parent will panic that their child is missing!
- 7:45 am Any student arriving after you have taken attendance will receive a tardy slip from the office so that Laura will know to change them from being absent to being tardy.
- Parents will be allowed to sign in and walk their child to the classroom door between 7 am and 7:15 am.
Library News
This year FISD libraries are focusing on Digital Literacy. Digital Literacy is a very important part of every child’s future, it touches many aspects of their lives. In supporting 21st century learning in FISD, we plan to teach our students how to access and utilize eBooks so that it becomes second nature to them.
Our FSE Library has over 500 eBooks. Mrs. Garrard will be showing every student on campus how to access, check out and use e-books. These books can be accessed on most mobile device, smart phones, tablets, laptops or desktop computers. Our students will be able to access these library books from home, the classroom, or the computer lab.
For a full list of our e-books visit our library webpage!
