Weekly Updates...
YES, WE WILL DO JEANS ON BOTH MONDAY AND TUESDAY!
Tuesday is the Student Council Multicolor day!
Leadership Team: Big thanks to the leadership team for coming early to meet. We discussed the upcoming events in December. Please look at the Looking Ahead section.
Absence: If you are going to be absent I am requiring you to send me a text message so that I am aware right away in the morning. This allows me the time to find coverage if needed for morning duty or classrooms. It also helps us prepare for a sub to come into your classroom. Please add my cell phone number to your contact list if you have not already: 402-312-8644
ERT Meeting: November 25th @4:20pm in the library: CPR training for the Emergency Response Team members only (Felici, Heller, Madsen, Nelsen, Frazier, Lensch, Hine, O'Melia)
Staff Meetings: I am cancelling the November 25th staff meeting and it will be replaced with the following staff meetings in December:
* December 3rd- K-2 teachers
* December 5th- 3-4 teachers
During the December staff meetings, we will be completing a PD on Math Fact Fluency. This is a 3 hour training that will be condensed into 1 hour to provide us with the most important information. As we look at focusing on fact fluency, this will provide us with some strategies to implement in the classroom, the order to teach them , etc.
Lesson Plans- I will be coming around to check lesson plans. Please have those out so I can access them without disrupting instruction. I have adjusted
TECH Requests: Aaron has asked that you send your requests to the HelpDesk Requests (email). Stating that you are at Standing Bear and the issue. They will then direct all the jobs out to him. He will be here Tuesday!
Turkey Talk- I would be happy to come do a brief 10 minute presentation for your class. I will bring "turkey parts" that they can touch and pass around. If you want me to stop by please send me an email with a few times that would work.

COACHING
Sharing what we do...
Coaching is part of my evaluation as a new principal. There will be days that I will have my supervisor, Dr. Talbott, come to Standing Bear to coach with me. Often times, John Chvatal or Suzanne Pike may be with us as well, as they support Standing Bear. This is a common practice to have a group coaches together, this is called Coaching Calibration. This allows us to discuss the coaching visit and give feedback to the classroom teachers. I don't want anyone to stress if we walk into your classroom, resume instruction as normal. This is more for my goals and evaluation. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.
