The Social Security Administration

The Program Basics
This program guaranteed an income for the unemployed and the retired, though adapted as the years went on. The Social Security Administration establishes old-age benefits for workers, unemployment insurance, aid for dependent mothers and children, insurance in the case of an industrial accident, and aid for the disabled (the blind or otherwise physically handicapped. This helps aid those who end up at the bottom end of the economy time and time again because they are physically unable to get sufficient work for themselves which in turn helps the economy by decreasing the wealth gap between those in the upper class and lessening the number of people below the poverty line at any given time.

Program Purpose
The purpose of this administration is to monitor and aid those who are unable to work due to gender, age, injury, or handicap in order to allow them a chance at a better life and for the economy to run more efficiently (because then these people are no longer adding to the growing poverty rate and can contribute to the economy by being able to purchase goods and services.
Who do we Want
We want anyone and everyone who has been wronged by the world. If there is any reason a person may be incapable of working and unable to provide for themselves or their family, they can come to the social security administration for help. It is also a smart idea to sign up even if you are perfectly healthy so that, when you age and eventually reach retirement age, you are able to continue getting the financial aid you need,
Why Social Security is a Good Option
This program helps ease the uncertainty of income. Though the Civil War Pension previously exists, the social security program insures those who have not seen combat or served in the military at any given time. It allows peace of mind to families knowing that even if events become out of their control, they can continue to put food on the table.
Where is Social Security Now
Over time, this program has adapted to meet the needs of America. In the 1940's a monthly paycheck to those retired began to be set in place. In today's time, social security refers more to the money taken out of your check monthly that will then be paid back to you monthly when you are elderly and no longer able to work. This way, it is still money you earned yourself, but also guarantees that regardless of saving or spending habits, money will be received by you when you're a retiree. No longer does this program appeal to those already in need, but to every America as a sort of precaution in case something were to happen or in perpetration for old age.
