Last of the Year!

I am always amazed and truly sad when I write this end of the year letter. This time of the year is always so bitter sweet for me. This year we definitely had some challenges, but they have come a long way this year. It has been amazing to watch their growth academically and socially. You have no idea how comfortable we have all gotten with each other and it has been so enjoyable to see their personalities be revealed as their comfort level grew. I laugh every morning while I am trying to get attendance and business taken care of, they are at my desk all trying to tell me stories. Unless I listen to them I know they will not give up until I have heard it all. I love it. Each child has their unique special personality. They are all so confident, outgoing, friendly and so funny. I also love their love for learning. I told them in the beginning of the year we are all pieces of a puzzle and we fit together perfectly!!! I will miss each and everyone of them.

Remember to have your child read this summer and practice their math facts. Children tend to lose some of their wonderful progress over the summer and they have all made amazing progress I would hate for that to happen. Even as a teacher and a mother of four I tend to slack off in the summer so I really understand. The reading packets are on-line just try your best. Your child's reading this summer will make a significant difference next year. A summer writing journal is always an excellent idea as well.

Thank you for the help I received this year in media, the classroom and computers. Also you are so generous with the supplies you have sent in, I can't thank you all enough. This is a quote from one of my favorite books I shared with your children hopefully they will remember. Read it to them and find out.

"What is real?" the Rabbit asked the Skin Horse one day. "Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick out handle?"

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse . "It's a thing that happens to you when a child loves you for a long, long time, you become real."
