Global School Play Day
Global School Play Day is an event which promotes the importance of unstructured play in schools. It's more than just a day of play. It's a day of acknowledgment that play matters, that kids need play.
No devices, no keyboards, and no screentime. This was our 3rd year participating in GSPD. This fun day provided opportunities for all EOM students to communication, problem solve and get creative.
This year, 535,690 students from 72 nations registered to participate.
Can't wait till next year #GSPD20!
"Play is…
- where we afford children the opportunity to practice how to control their own lives.
- where they learn to solve their own problems and learn that the world is not so scary
- where they experience joy and they learn the world is not so depressing after all
- where they learn to get along with peers and see from other points of view and practice empathy and then get over narcissism.
- Play by definition is creative and innovative. Of course if you take play away, these things will decline."
- Dr. Peter Gray
Until next time...

Also, to transition to a place where students DO stuff, not simply a place where students GET stuff.
