From the Principal
Happy February to all our families!
It has been a busy start to our school year. We have had Elsa visit and bring huge amounts of snow to our playground, we had Zero the Hero on the 100th day of school, we've had extra Title I teachers teaching 1st graders...also heroes! Amazing way to kick off this month.
We are starting to look closely at our behavior data as a leadership team and know that our PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) are working and kids are earning their panther bucks and trips to buy items at the Trolley. Mr. Morrison and Mrs. Jackson did a presentation last week to discuss PBIS and if you are interested in reading our slides, please check out the link. We know that we have more behaviors on Fridays, between 12:15-1:00 pm and typically on the playground. We are collecting information to know the WHY behind those behaviors and work with staff to create solutions. This is exciting work and we hope to continue teaching our expectations so that our MISSION that every child feels safe at school is a reality.
Did you know it is also time to recruit our new group of Kindergarteners? If you have or know a child that will be 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2022, please share our link for Kindergarten Round up, OR have them call Crystal Jost, at Stoney Creek to answer any questions. We are looking forward to welcoming another great group of young learners. Round Up dates for this year are April 19 and 21. Use this LINK to schedule your student for Round Up.
We have a a few things coming up:
1. Book Fair- We are trying to find a week and place around our very full building to have the PTO host this event. Stay Tuned.
2. Pennies for Parker- Our District is hoping to pay for a new GPS Collar for Parker the Therapy Dog. Donations can be made in the office. We are competing against the other schools, with the help of our Transportation Department!
Thank you for always sending us your very best and for your continued partnership in building our future!

FIELD TRIPS
We are trying to include some field trips this year, but we need to remind you that it is very important that volunteers are careful NOT to take pictures of other children and post them on Social Media. We, as a school, know which students have authorization to post pictures of and if you are accompanying us on a trip you may only take photos of your own child. Thank you for helping to keep all our students safe, at all times, including fun field trips.
