We Are Off to a Great Start!
Being the best school that we can be involves everyone. I encourage parents to always ask their children questions about school. When they know you are interested in their school chances are they will understand how their hard work can help shape their best future in whatever they choose to do. Here are some questions I offer:
- What are you learning about in math, reading, or writing?
- Who do you sit with at lunch?
- Who do you play with at recess?
- Who is your best friend in your class?
- How do you feel about your teacher?
- Did you work hard today?
- Is there anything you need help with?
If there are questions that you have, please talk to your child's teacher.
Though our year has been off to a great start, there are some areas that we can fix. Please remind children that they have to keep their hands to themselves. Physical aggression is not tolerated at Sipley. Please support us in this area by talking to your child about ways to reduce their anger in difficult situations and encourage them to seek an adult before taking matters into their own hands.
We are better as ONE. Thanks for your support!
Curriculum Reminder
Our students are using Eureka Math. If there is homework from Eureka Math and you need guidance as to the way it was taught, look at the math assignment and you will find something like Lesson 17 homework and 4.1 (4 is the grade and 1 is the module). If you Google, "Eureka Math Grade 4 module 1 lesson 17" you will brought to a video of that lesson! Do this with any assignment! I use this with my daughter!
