Principal's Message
It was wonderful to be outside to see and hear about our various spring sports getting underway this week! There was definitely more smiles and energy this week than any before and I look for this pattern to continue!
Just a reminder that we will continue state testing on Monday and Tuesday of next week and 8th graders will have science on Thursday as well.
Please enjoy the weekend and I appreciate all of your continued support this year.

Dublin Robotics Team Recognition
On March 28, 2021, FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team #8642, 8-to-Automate, won the Inspire Award and placed 3rd on the robot game at their third FTC competition, the Gem City II Qualifier. The awards recognized the team’s efforts to continue to spread STEM education to students and give back to the community, as well as their hard work in creating and programming their robot.
FTC is a robotics program that combines engineering and business skills together to build a robot and create an engineering notebook. Teams compete with their robot in a series of matches to get the most points. 8-to-Automate is a robotics team composed of eleven Dublin City Schools students: Sathvik Allipuram, Thanish Boggula, Alex Glaubitz, Kunaal Srinivas Gudavalli, Will Krietemeyer, Rishik Lingam, Maxwell Imamura (GRIZZELL), Max Masri, Liam Swayne, Anya Zhang, and Arwen Zhang. The teammates are FIRST Lego League alumni and this is the team’s rookie FTC year. They have worked hard to accomplish and achieve their goals this season and look forward to competing at the May State Championship.

Student Drop Off for Monday 4/12 and Tuesday 4/13
Grizzell Drop Off Procedures for Monday 4/12 and Tuesday 4/13
We understand that there were many frustrations this week in regards to student drop off on Wednesday and Thursday. Both RLA and Hybrid students were completing state testing and there were over 900 students in the building, many being dropped off by parents. After observing the traffic issues on Wednesday, we attempted something different on Thursday. Please understand that we want nothing more than a smooth and timely drop off, but with the amount of cars and one way in and one way out, there is no perfect solution and we appreciate your patience.
For our testing days on Monday and Tuesday of next week, we are going to use a similar system to what we used on Thursday of this week where all drop off traffic is diverted into the large north lot. Our SRO, Chad Patrick, and the Dublin Police Department will be out in front of Grizzell enforcing a RIGHT Turn ONLY onto Avery Road when exiting school grounds.
Some other practices that will help us on these busy days would be:
Please wait until the loop at the end of the large north lot to drop off your student. When drop off occurs other places along the route, students have to stop and cross traffic which slows the process and is dangerous.
We will have the school doors open at 7:50 on Monday and Tuesday if you would like to bring your student early.
Utilize school bus transportation and have your student ride the bus to school in the morning.
Please know that your student will not be marked tardy and we will not begin testing until all students are in classrooms. So, if your child is a couple minutes late due to traffic, please assure them that everything will be OK and the school understands.
Thank you again for your patience and cooperation, especially during the morning of test days.
Spring Ohio State Testing and Adjusted Schedules
We will continue state testing next week as we complete the math for grades 6-8 and science for grade 8. Below you will find the testing schedule for Grizzell. Students are expected to be in their testing areas at our normal start time of 8:28. Students will begin testing shortly after arrival to Grizzell, and each test will last approximately two hours. Masks will be required to be worn at all times in the building, and all safety protocols are expected to be followed.

Dublin Student Trip to LONDON and PARIS!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
While I fully recognize that we are still in the midst of very uncertain times, I am a firm believer in maintaining hope and excitement for the future and all the adventures yet to come when our world opens up again. I want to provide students with this same hope, which is why I can’t wait to tell you more about the amazing trip to London & Paris for Summer 2022.
As our world becomes increasingly interconnected, it is critical for our students to become more culturally aware, explore new ideas and grow their potential. I believe that when students are able to see their curriculum come to life outside of the classroom, they develop a new and valuable perspective of the world.
I will be hosting a virtual info session where we will discuss details like EF’s Safety Protocol and how they are supporting groups this year, exciting itinerary details, affordable payment options, and more! This isn’t requiring that you travel, but why not learn about something fun and exciting while you have some time at home with your student.
WHEN: Tuesday April 13th, 2021 @ 6:30pm
WHERE: Virtual Meeting via Google Meets – You Must Pre-register in order to receive the link to join
Please pre-register here to attend the parent info session and receive the link: https://bit.ly/3rQDCep
