See You in 2019!

December 20, 2018

This week we have managed to wind down 2018 in style...literally! Check out our LHS Facebook page here to see a photo gallery of some of students and staff showing off their gaudiest gear! A huge thank you to our generous and thoughtful PTO, our top-notch parents, our awesome staff and administrators, and the ever-so-awesome students in Room 106 for the delicious, decadent spread of cookies, hot chocolate, candy, and other sweet treats to hit the spot!

We wish all of our students, parents, staff, faculty, and friends a peaceful holiday season full of love and laughter, family and friends, unwavering hope, and all the joy your heart can hold.

Whether your winter season brings a "Merry Christmas," a "Happy Hanukkah," a "Joyous Kwanzaa," or a "Ramadan Kareem," the true spirit of this season lies within you all year...the ability to show compassion and charity, accept and appreciate differences, lift others, spread kindness, and share joy and a giving heart.

Have a wonderful break...see you in 2019!

Star Struck

Congratulations to senior Sarah Berardi on being selected by the Hibernian Athletic Association (HAA) as part of their Annual Senior Soccer Eleven! Each year, the HAA chooses eleven male and eleven female soccer players from all of the Colonial Valley Conference (CVC) graduating high school seniors for their accomplishments both on and off the playing field. Sarah will be honored at the Senior Soccer Eleven of Mercer County Annual Awards Dinner on January 27th.

We are so proud of you, Sarah!

They're On a Mission

Shayla Whiffin, Nadia Williams, and Vivian Jiang are three Operation Smile club members who went on missions with Operation Smile so far this year. Shayla traveled to Iloilo, Philippines, Nadia to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and Vivian to Vijayawada, India! As part of their mission work, the volunteers distribute donations, teach families about healthcare, give presentations, even sometimes witnessing an actual cleft palate surgery! Op Smile members are helping to change young lives, but they agree that their own lives become changed in the process.

Encore, Encore!

Arjun Agarwal's and John Weaver's documentary debut at the Washington Crossing, PA dress rehearsal on December 9th received such positive ovations from the public that the students were invited to the actual crossing reenactment on December 25th.

Agarwal (LHS 10th grader) and Weaver (now at Lawrenceville Prep) wrote, produced, and edited "The Ten Day Stand that Defined a Free Country," as their National History Day Competition entry while at LMS.

The crossing reenactment is at 1:00 p.m.; the students will introduce their 10-minute documentary at 11:30 a.m., noon, and 12:30 p.m. The public is invited to this free event, which is part of Patriot's Week.
