STEM Starter Academy Summer Programs
The STEM Starter Academy is part of a statewide initiative to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields. This program is for students new to STEM who are interested in attending GCC or HCC. Participants take a summer science, technology, engineering or math class, receive intensive advising, tutoring and career support, and participate in special STEM-focused activities – for free! Students who complete the coursework earn college credit.
This is a great way to start earning college credit and have a smooth transition to college.
For more information about the GCC program, visit www.gcc.mass.edu/STEMacademy

STCC
The STCC STEM Starter Academy program, open to students enrolled in STCC for Fall 2020, will run July 1 through Aug 9 from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm. The centerpiece of the program is that students will take free classes and earn college credit in Math and English. Students will also be provided with a free lunch, tutoring support and advising. In addition, students will investigate STEM careers through fun field trips, symposiums and invited guest speakers both in the summer and throughout the year. This is an excellent opportunity for students to make friends, connect with faculty/staff and learn about our campus resources, all while earning the $400 stipend that is provided to students completing the program.
In order to apply submit a STCC admissions application for the Fall 2020 semester and have a GPA of 2.0 or above.
Applications are due by June 14th. Click here for more information.
