Holiday Hours

Just a reminder of the upcoming holiday changes to our school programming and hours:

  • December 21 - January 4 - Winter Break - no instructional classes
  • December 24-25 - School closed for Christmas holiday
  • December 31 - Close at 4:30 pm
  • January 1 - School closed for New Year holiday

CPS Angel Tree

Please be reminded that the Child Protective Services Angel Tree gifts are due by Monday, December 3rd. Be reminded that they must be in an open gift bag (not wrapped in wrapping paper) so that the caseworkers are able to see inside the bags and have the gift tag attached to the bag.

Our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students will be delivering the gifts to the CPS office on Wednesday, December 5th. Thank you for your support of this great cause and providing a great holiday for these special children!

Polar Express Event - Friday, December 14th

We are so excited to once again present our Polar Express event on Friday, December 14th. The event is from 7:00-8:30 p.m. with the last entry at 8:00 p.m. and is $20/family. We will have the Polar Express set up to explore the magic of the holiday with crafts, treats, music, and a special holiday guest may be there to join us!

This event is open to all students; it is geared for students preschool through 2nd Grades. Please turn in your form and payment by Wednesday, December 5th.

Holiday Programs

Our elementary students will present their holiday musical productions on Friday, December 7th at 3:00 p.m. for Kindergarten and 1st Grade and on Friday, December 14th at 3:00 p.m. for 2nd through 6th grades. Students should dress in nice holiday attire.

Please note that we will be using the parking lot at Covenant Methodist Church for overflow parking and will run a shuttle with our busses between the church and our school. We will also have the gate open to walk between the lots if you prefer.

Buy One, Get One Free Scholastic Book Fair - December 3-7

We will be hosting a special holiday Buy One, Get One Free Scholastic Book Fair next week. It will be open daily from 3:45-6:00 p.m. All items are buy one, get one free and offer great holiday gift opportunities! It will be held in the elementary cafeteria. Please note that we will only be able to accept cash or check for this fair with the BOGO sale; credit card payments will not be available.

Kindergarten Club

We will host our first of five sessions of Kindergarten Club next Tuesday for our Pre-Kindergarten students at 4:00. This is a great opportunity for our Pre-Kindergarten students to see and be prepared for what to expect from our Merryhill Kindergarten next year. Our Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Spikes and Ms. Diaz de Leon run the club and are excited to have all of our rising Kindergarten students join us a for a fun afternoon of learning! The cost is $25 total for the five sessions. Register through the office.

Jungle Patrol - Thursday, December 6th

We will have Jungle Patrol here on Thursday, December 6th for students that earned the Build-a-Buddy stuffed animal prize with the cookie dough fundraiser. In addition, any other students that would like to make one may turn in an order form to make one as well. Please note that we will begin this activity at 8:30 a.m.

Change of Clothes

Please make sure that your child always has a change of clothes in their backpack in case of an accident or a spill.

Friday Lunch Orders

You should receive December lunch order forms today, and we have included January 4th on this order form since instructional classes will not begin again until January 7th. Order forms are due by 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5th for the month.

We will send copies of your order forms home next Friday, December 7th in order for you to have to remember which day(s) you ordered lunch. Please understand that it is difficult for us to look them back up after orders are submitted; the copy should assist you with having that information. Thank you for your assistance with this.

Medication Policies

As we are in a season of more illness, please be reminded of the medication policies:

  • All medication must be in the original container. Over the counter medications must be in unopened containers.
  • We are only able to administer the prescribed dosage or less as noted on the medication bottle.
  • Medication is administered at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and must be signed into the office.

Vacation Policy

Please be reminded of our student vacation policy. Preschool students are able to request one week of vacation per year. The student will receive a tuition credit for that week, but the following conditions must be met: student must be out of the school for the week, student must have been enrolled for six consecutive months prior to the vacation request, and the vacation week must be requested in writing at least two weeks in advance.
