DIARY ENTRY
Madi Cortez
DEAR DIARY,
They woke me up at 7 AM, tired, hungry and cold. Nothing is making sense today, and nothing is going well. One day I was just walking with my family, and next thing I know my brothers are gone, and my society is bombed. I am lucky I am alive. But living in the position I am in now is really hard sometimes. My dad is one of the three leaders, and when he dies I have to take his place as a leader and try to fix this messed up society. Actually, if any of the leaders die I will have too take over. Our cars, food, homes, and everything that we own is destroyed. Everyone and everything is in a horrible disaster. My dad is trying to lead everyone to happiness and just trying to get everyone safe, but some people are just so panicked and scared that they don't know what to do still. Everyone is still fighting for there lives, some are still trying to get used to this lifestyle. I am only 12 years old and I am having to fight with the pain of eating little food a day, and suffering in this society. Today a women tried getting into the hospital. I didn't know what was going on but she was screaming as the security didn't let her in. Today was the same as always and boring. They are making us all get into the crater to go to bed. I am hoping and praying that tomorrow I will wake up with a miracle, and discover these past years have been a dream, and this was all a big nightmare.
Backstory of Diary Entry
A girl the age of 14 suffered in the attack when she was only 11 years old. She had 2 little younger twin brothers who where 3, they passed away. Her dad is one of the three leaders, so she never sees him since he is always trying to do his job. Her and her mom still suffer equally like everyone else. The day after the war happened she found a blank journal. This entry is a year after the attack.
