Students of the Week
A Visitor to Mrs. Boyer's Class...
Our school elf, Max, made his appearance in Mrs. Boyer's 1st grade classroom!!! He flew around the entire world to bring her class an elf pet Reindeer! Never one to miss an opportunity to teacher a lesson, Mrs. Boyer has asked her students to write about Max's adventures every day in their elf journals!
It is such a joy to experience Christmas through the eyes of a child!!!
Random Acts of Kindness at Brentwood... and BEYOND!
As you know December’s Value of the Month is Kindness. At Brentwood we are encouraging every child to show random act of kindness every day. We are “decking the halls” with these random acts of kindness by writing these acts on chains in red, white and green. You will soon be able to see these chains hanging in the main hallway by the library!
We would also like to encourage our students to display these acts outside of school.
Kindness Counts Cards have made their debut in our school this week. We are encouraging every student to participate in a random act of kindness in the community and leave this card behind. The hope is that this act will make someone smile and they will pass the kindness on to someone else.
Let’ s show our Plainfield Pride by spreading kindness like confetti in our community!

No Birthday/Celebration Treats in School
We know you want to celebrate special days such as birthdays with your child's class, however, our handbook states this is not allowed at Brentwood. Please refrain from sending any classroom treats in to school. This is NOT a new policy. We will continue to offer special days throughout the year where our teachers and PTO plan fun activities for our students (during school hours as well as outside of school hours).
Thank you for your assistance as we continue to enforce the rules set forth in our handbook.

Our PTO Needs YOUR Help!!!
We are looking for a dozen or so parents to help on several committees for this year in a variety of capacities. Please email brentwoodpto2016@gmail.com if you are interested.
Staff Appreciation Committee - arrange items for the event and help set up/ clean up for their events during the year typically 3-4 events during the year.
Carnival Committee (Mar 4th) - this committee will be working together to divide and conquer the list of things that need to happen to make the carnival a success. We will have a separate meeting with this group to get the ball rolling in November. Most of the time is spent prior to carnival and maybe 1-2 hours setting up and cleaning up prior.
