College Information

Campus Highlight: Bowdoin College

Bowdoin is a vibrant residential college nestled in a small, active New England town in Maine. A liberal arts education at Bowdoin isn’t about being small and safe—it’s about having the support to take surprising risks. Students undertake this journey with faculty members who are scholars and artists of distinction who actively shape their fields.Unique program and majors that partner with other Universities and institutions to broaden students' opportunities.

Bowdoin has eliminated the application fee for all applicants who would be the first generation in their families to attend college. The fee would also be waived for any student seeking financial aid assistance from the College. We continue to be need blind in our admissions process, we meet 100% of demonstrated need, and our financial aid packages contain no loans. Apply for Bowdoin's fall fly-in program, a funded visit opportunity for students unable to visit on their own.

Financial Aid Changes for 2017-2018

Advice for students and parents on changes for the 2017-18 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and CA Dream Act Application (CDAA):

1. Apply in Fall - The 2017-18 FAFSA and the CDAA will open on October 1, 2016. This allows students to apply three months earlier than in the past.

2. Applying is Easier - Completing forms for both the FAFSA and the CDAA is easier because applicants will provide income and tax information filed for tax year 2015 (they don't have to estimate). Many students and parents will find completing the FAFSA easier since they will be able to provide income-tax information directly from the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) that is linked to the FAFSA.* Info on the DRT

*Please note the CDAA does not support the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.

Unchanged: The priority filing deadline is still March 2 for both applications. Students may receive information regarding Cal Grant eligibility in the fall, but will still receive their UC financial aid offer(s) after notification of admission in the spring.
