Mr. Corso's Weekly Message
Positive Raiders: Responsible, Respectful, Hard Working and Kind
Happy Holidays!
Our office is closed Dec 21-Jan. 5.
School resumes Jan. 6. It will be a regular late start Monday.
This Week’s Positive Message: I read this on Monday to start our week...Raiders, many of us are so excited for the upcoming two week vacation. You have worked very hard this school year and everyone deserve some time off. As Friday draws closer, the excitement increases. Let's make sure this is the best week of the school year so far. Come to school and class on time, be organized for each class, act maturely, follows directions, make decisions that are good example for others to follow, and don’t make excuses. Be the most responsible Raider you can be. Make it a great week. And then on Friday I read, “This is Mr. Corso. I wanted to wish each and everyone of you a wonderful holiday and winter break. You deserve a break. And so do teachers and our staff. Please offer an early holiday gift by being as kind as possible today to your fellow Raiders. Smile, say hello, open the door and be the kind of strainer you can be. For me to each of you, Happy Holidays.”
Coffee with the Principal: Our next Coffee with the Principal will be on Jan. 14 at 7:45am in our Library. We will discuss the upcoming potential PUSD Bond. Our superintendent Dr. Marian Kim-Phelps will be joining us. Sunset Hills and Rolling Hills have also asked to come. I hope to see you there! Bring a friend. No Homework over Break: As a school, we have agreed to No Homework over extended breaks (Winter Break, Spring Break, etc). No assignments should be given over Winter Break. Students may be encouraged to read, but no reading logs or other reading assignments should be given. Students should be taking a break. They need balance between home life and school. This helps a little to establish that balance. We hope it makes the break more enjoyable for all.
Easy Way to Support BMMS: Amazon Smile - Did you know that when you shop for the holidays at smile.amazon.com/ch/06-1703158, AmazonSmile donates to the Education Foundation at Black Mountain? Each purchase earns our school money to provide our students with the best education possible.
From my family to yours, I wish everyone a very Happy Holidays! Thank you for your continued support!
Scott Corso
Principal, Black Mountain Middle School
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Jacket Drive, Adopt a Family and our Giving Tree. We appreciate your kindness to our community.
