Week of 9.12-9.16


Thank you to everyone who was able to come out to Panda Express on Tuesday night. We really appreciate your support!

This week in orchestra we have continued to focus on correct positions. For violins, violas and cellos this is sitting on the edge of your chair with straight back and relaxed shoulders. Violins and Violas have their instruments on their left shoulder, parallel to the floor and should be able to hold their instrument with no hands for over a 2 minutes by now! Cellos should have their instruments centered on their body with the bottom peg right behind their left ear.

All classes have started to add their left hand and putting fingers down on the fingerboard to play new notes. If you see your child practicing left hand, reinforce wrist being straight, rounded fingers and relaxed thumbs. This would be a huge help!!!

Many of you have already purchased DSO tickets at Registration night. For those of you who would still like to purchase tickets please have students bring an envelope to school with their name on it and make the check out to LOBC (Lovejoy Orchestra Booster Club) – pricing below.
