WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE CLASSROOM??
- Homework: Students need to get their weekly reflection signed and complete their homework bingo sheet and math problem on the back side (gold colored paper). Please have your child return their gray folder with their completed homework sheet by next Friday 11/9.
- Innovation: We will be working on our digital leadership notebooks and well as continue to dive deeper into coding and how we can use coding to show what we know about a specific topic.
- Language Arts -Unit 3: Animal Adaptations. Our essential question that our unit will focus on is, How do living things adapt to change? This week we will focus on learning about more adaptations animals have by identifying key details and main idea, using text evidence to make inferences about a text, and comparing and contrasting within a text. - Math -UNIT 2: Concepts of Multiplication and Division. Here is the parent letter with lots of great information about what students will be learning in this unit and the vocabulary we will be focusing on in class. We will continue to work on multiplication and apply our learning as well as explore division and how it is related to multiplication! Continue to practice your multiplication facts at home!!!
- Writing -Students will continue working on their 4 week long research project on an animal of their choice. This week students will begin to write their animal report in class and show their understanding of the facts they have researched.
- Spelling- We will be reviewing r controlled vowels and look at words with the closed syllable pattern. For example: sticky, blend, and better.
- Vocabulary- Students will be able to use reference materials to build their vocabulary. They will show their understanding of the words by using them in a sentence during collaborative conversations and in their writing. Some of our vocabulary words we will focus on in this unit are detect, exterior, moist, survive and formulate.
- 7 Habits - Habit 4: Think Win Win!
