Thursday Trade Days
The process of taking water from lakes, streams, reservoirs and even the ocean and converting it into safe and reliable drinking water is complex and requires highly trained individuals. These processes require water and wastewater operations professionals with specific training and certifications. Learn more at our next Thursday Trade Day (the third Thursday every month).

SAT/ACT Testing Dates 2022-23
Juniors! If you plan to take the ACT or SAT this school year, please pay close attention to the dates to avoid late fees or missing the test entirely. We also recommend verifying that the college you are applying to requires these exams prior to signing up. Many colleges no longer require test scores as part of the application process. You can register for the SAT at the College Board website here. You can register for the ACT at the ACT website here.
ASVAB Test - Dec 6th
Scholarships Available
Looking for scholarships? Our PHS website has lots of resources to check for scholarship opportunities. Our scholarship deadline log has new local scholarships and is updated as they become available. Generally, the local scholarship season is January – June so you won’t see as many opportunities right now. It’s still a good idea to regularly check scholarship websites for national scholarships and colleges for merit scholarships.
Employment Opportunity - Paid Student Tutors for Hire
Students, if you are qualified and are interested in earning money tutoring other students, please email Ms. Jaime Brown at jbrown@powayusd.com for more information to become a student tutor. You will be required to have a teacher recommendation for each subject area you wish to tutor.
National Suicide Prevention Resources
988 - National Suicide Prevention
People in crisis and those trying to help them have a new three-digit phone number, 988, to reach the national suicide prevention network. Mental health experts are hoping that the three-digit number will deliver a breakthrough in assisting people in crisis who may otherwise try to harm themselves.
People who call, text, or chat 988 will be able to reach trained counselors who belong to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline network.
Poway High Counselors
The counselors have open office hours for students at Break, Lunch, and After School. Parents can schedule appointments with their student's counselor by emailing them.
