GJM Family Connection
August 2022
A new school year means new beginnings and new adventures.- Denise Witmer
Welcome to 2022-23
Welcome to 2022-2023 school year and to the GJM family. We are excited to see all of our students next week! Our teachers have been busy training for the new year and prepping their rooms for your students.
Some changes occurred over the summer. We have new staff. Help us welcome to the family: Ms. Harper, Ms. Gonzalez, Ms. Galvez, Ms. Moya, Ms. Evans, Ms. Evetts, Ms. Guerrero, Ms. Donecker and Ms. Williams! They come with a wealth of knowledge to help your students be the best they can be.
Some other changes that happened are we have a new drive line and bus line. The bus line will enter the same way and go straight to drop off by our new gym. parent line will enter in the same places as the busses, take the second left and go all the way down to end of the sidewalk. This will allow for there to be less cars on the street. We will have staff our front helping you to know where to go. We have a nice new gym. We also have new air conditioners.
Another change we have is our day. Our first bell rings at 7:45. Tardy bell rings at 7:55. Please make sure your student is here on time and ready to go. Our final bell will ring at 3:30. We added 10 minutes to our school day.
We have Meet the Teacher Monday Aug 15th from 5-6:30. We can't wait to see you there! First day of school is Tuesday Aug. 16th.
Let's have a wonderful year!

Counselor Corner by: Mrs. Jimenez
Greetings and welcome back to the 2022-2023 school year from your counselor, Mrs. Jimenez!
The elementary years are a time when students begin to develop their academic self-concept and understand how they learn and build confidence in their abilities to be successful at school. It’s also a time when students develop decision-making and communication skills in addition to character values. As students grow and learn throughout the elementary years, they acquire and develop attitudes towards self, peers, school, social groups, and families.
As the school counselor I help all students with social/emotional development, self-management, social skills, friendship, career development, support of academics and provide support during various transitions in a student’s life (e.g. moving, grief, family changes, etc.). I provide this through the implementation of direct and indirect services, including Individual counseling (short term), Group counseling, and Classroom counseling.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. cynthia.jimenez@inglesideisd.org
Nurse News by: Nurse Williams
Welcome to Nurse Williams!
Happy new 2022-2023 school year from your new school nurse, Kimberly Williams! I am an Ingleside alumnus and a parent in Ingleside school district as well. I am honored to be working amongst an amazing group of educators and staff. I am looking forward to meeting everyone so please feel free to introduce yourself if you see me at school!
I believe that communication is the key to your child’s success and to a great parent/GJM staff relationship. I encourage you to contact me with any concerns or questions regarding your children’s health.
If your student has medications at school, we will need a current medical authorization along with the medications. Please look for this information to come your way if this pertains to your student. Please keep in mind that if your student needs medication at school for any length of time, we will need a medical authorization on file. These forms can be found in the office. If your student has a chronic medical condition or a health concern and we have not spoken yet, please email me at kimberly.williams@inglesideisd.org, so that we can set up a time to discuss your student’s needs.
My goal is to team with you to ensure your student’s health and safety while they are at school. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance. Here’s to a great school year!
