What is the issue?
Speeding is the largest killer on Australian roads, contributing to 40% of road fatalities. Between 2008 and 2012, 818 were killed and over 4000 injured from speed related crashes.

How it is affecting young driver?
  • 45% of all young injury deaths are due to road crashes
  • Indigenous youth are 5 times more likely to be involved in a speed related crash
  • A 17 year old driver with a Provisional License is 4 times more likely to be involved in a fatal crash than a driver over the age of 26
  • 80% of young driver killed due to speeding are male
  • 1 in 3 speeding drivers are males between 17 - 26, with only 6% being young females
