Bell Schedule / Updates for 2022-23

Please take a moment to read this important memo regarding our 2022-23 school year, including state legislation that requires all urban and suburban high schools to start school no earlier than 8:30 a.m. We have also included other important topics to keep you informed.


Thank you everyone for your fine turn out last week for testing! We appreciate all of our students and families as we move through our state required testing.

Summer School Information

West Hills plans to offer two sessions of Summer School this year! Any grade 9,10, or 11 student who earned an "F"/failed a course that is needed for graduation or a grade of a “D” that must be retaken for 4 year college admissions will be enrolled in summer school.


West Hills is planning to offer ONE four week session of Summer School.

The tentative dates are June 6 - June 30.


Students will have the opportunity to be enrolled in 1 or 2 courses depending on the level of courses needed.

Period 1 is 7:30am-11:00am

Break/Lunch: 11-11:30am

Period 2 is 11:30-3:00pm.


In order to inform our Summer School plans, we are asking our West Hills parents and guardians to complete this survey. The survey only needs to be completed if your student earned an "F"/failed a course that is needed for graduation or a grade of “D” that must be retaken for 4 year college admissions.


We will NOT have any home, online learning options. PLEASE NOTE: Completion of this form does not guarantee Summer School enrollment.

2022 WHHS GRADUATION Fundraiser

WHHS PTSA wants to help YOU celebrate with your seniors at the June 3rd graduation ceremony. We know it can be hectic to get the "good seats" or find parking for the event. We are excited to offer multiple ways for you to ease the stress and enjoy the ceremony all while helping the West Hills community. We are hosting an online auction for a select number of reserved parking spaces and two (2) Grad Seat packages. Each Grad Seat package includes four (4) field-level seats, one (1) reserved parking space, cooler with drinks & light snacks, one (1) courtesy golf-cart ride to and from your field-level seats, and an opportunity to take a field level photograph of your graduate. THE ONLINE AUCTION OPENS FRIDAY MAY 13, 2022 AT 7 AM AND CLOSES FRIDAY MAY 20, 2022 AT 7 AM.

2022 Science Full Paw members and awards night May 18th

The annual Full Paw awards night will take place on May 18th at 6pm in room S8. This science department award celebrates students who have completed 4 or more years of science (earning a C or better) during high school. Questions? Please email Ms. Biggerstaff at cbiggerstaff@guhsd.net

Senior Chromebook Deadline Approaching

Seniors! This Friday, 5/20 is the deadline for you to take action for your Chromebook. After this deadline, you will be billed the full replacement cost of the Chromebook ($240) and blocked from privileges like getting your yearbook until you either purchase, return, or make alternate plans for your Chromebook. To buy your Chromebook, simply pay $20 at the Web Store (bit.ly/whhs-webstore) or in Finance. See more info about your options at bit.ly/whhs-sr-cbs - if you have additional questions, see Ms. Sannwald in the library.

All Students: Review Your School Destiny Account

As we near the end of the year, make sure you are aware of what is on your school Destiny account. See what checked out items you will need to return and if you have any outstanding invoices that you need to clear. For info about logging into Destiny, go to bit.ly/whhs-destiny

All Students with Library Books

The end of the year is approaching! This Thursday, 5/19 is the final due date for all library books for the year. If you still have any library books, make sure to return them or else they will be assumed to be lost and your school account will be invoiced. If you are a 9th, 10th, or 11th-grade student returning to West Hills next year, see Ms. Sannwald about options for renewing and checking out books for the summer.

You are just weeks away from being a SENIOR! Your senior year is full of memorable events and moments, and this exciting year begins with taking your senior portrait for the yearbook!


Please note this senior portrait information so that you can schedule your appointment and mark your calendars.

Loss of Privilege Policy

Loss of Privilege (LOP) List:

Check your email every week to find out if you are on the list due

to attendance or behavior. Only students on the list will get an email.



Seniors and guests attending Prom: If you are on the LOP list you are not able to purchase a ticket for prom. If you previously purchased a ticket and get on the LOP list, you will not be able to attend Prom. You will be required to attend detention or Saturday School to get off the list. If you fail to get off the list, then you will be issued a refund.


All Students: If you are on the Loss of Privilege list now through June, you need to get

off the list to be eligible for Fall sports in August. You can do this now and into our

summer school.

Guitars in C.P. Physics

This past week in C.P. Physics students built their own milk jug guitar with 6 weights of fishing line for strings. They tuned them with a tuning app and then collected data and made observations based on frequency, string length, density and tension. They were encouraged to decorate the necks ahead of time. See pics. below!

Hello Wolf Pack Students and Families:


Recently our school board approved a three year calendar. For ease of reading and planning for students and families, we brought them together in one document for you. If you could please plan your family time around our announced Summer, Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring breaks, this would help your student stay on top of classroom instruction and learning. We know this is not always possible, but we just wanted to share this for possible advance planning.

Scholarship Club

Scholarship Club will be meeting Mondays at 3pm in the College/Career Center (L1). 9th-12th grade students welcome to attend to get direct scholarship application help.

Chess Club

Interested in learning how to play chess or simply wanting to get involved? Or beat Ms. Haskin?? Chess club meets every Thursday in room PC-1 at lunch. From beginners to advanced, we have players from all levels! Please come by and check it out! A fun way to spend your Thursday’s lunch and a great way to make new friends!
