Technology News for Today's Classroom
News News News!!
At the beginning of November I started my new schedule! It has been great to be in each building every other day working with everyone and keeping the flow of technology going. I am at Kempsville Elementary every Tuesday and Thursday and Kempsville Meadows Elementary every Wednesday and Friday, alternating schools on Mondays. I am available to pull small groups in classrooms or in the Learning Labs for extra support. View my schedule here .
Hour of Code
The Week of December 7 - 13 is Computer Science in Education Week. The highlight of this celebration is the "Hour of Code". This event is held worldwide and currently there are over 72,074 schools participating. This year I would like to work with each grade level to do some basic coding. Coding is not just about programming, students learn how to look at things analytically and break down items into smaller pieces. Check out https://hourofcode.com/us for more information.

Padlet
Several classes have jumped on-board using this easy fun digital sticky board. Padlet is a blank canvas to create beautiful projects that are easy to share and collaborate on.
It works like a sticky note. You get an empty page and can put whatever you want on it.
Seesaw
Seesaw is a student-driven digital portfolio that empowers students to independently document what they are learning at school and upload to their e portfolio. Teachers can easily set up their class and access student work from any device.
